High Voltage Testing Instrument SHV85/AHV85
• fully electronic voltage regulation
• mains synchronous floating AC 0 ... 5000 V,
• DC 0 ... 6000 V
• modes: testing, voltage ramp, burning (option)
• full modular construction
• system capable via interface (RS232/Ethernet)
• ViT operating concept
Brief reference:
This unit is intended for the insulation testing and voltage proof testing of electrical equipment,
machines, components and insulating materials which, according to the relevant safety regulations,
must be tested with a sinusoidal AC or a DC voltage.
The electronic voltage ramp makes it possible to test electronic equipment for which a non-destructive
test is only guaranteed by increasing the voltage slowly respectively for items with high inherent
capacitance.
The modular construction of the test unit allows an optimal adaptation to the individual requirements
of the user. Equipment, e.g. interfaces, displays which are not required can be allotted.
The communication of the internal modules is performed via lightwave, thus an internal influencing
is largely prevented.
As a mode of tripping are selectable apparent current, active current or peak value of the testing
current. Additionally is for every tripping mode a maximum permitted current change ( I) definable.
To guarantee a correct connection of the item under test a minimum test current (Imin) can be
preset as conact monitoring.
The range of equipment reaches from fully automatic unit without display and control elements
up to complex HV test systems with control, evaluation, stastistics and test schedule administration
via PC software.
Usable for tests e.g. according to:
• EN 60335-1 Safety of electrical equipment
• EN 60598-1 Light fixtures
• EN 60950 Safety of facilities of the information technology
• EN 61010-1 Safety regulations for electric measuring, contol and laboratory equipment
• EN 60601 Medicine technology

High Voltage Testing Instrument SHV85/AHV85
Equipment configuration for a manual high voltage test: for this purpose the VIT computer system is required with
an integrated display. The device offers an interactive operator control for the parameter input and the test itself.
There are „Tests manually“ or „Tests with test schedule“ selectable.
For „Tests manually“ the test parameters have to be set manually.
For „Tests with test schedule/parameter blocks) there is a corresponding test schedule/parameter block to be select
which contains the test parameters for the high voltage test run. The test schedules/parameter blocks can before be
entered manually in the test schedule administration or transmitted by the PC via interface.
Automatic equipment: this variant doesn’t have any VIT computer system. The control, the parameter setting and
evaluation is carried out by means of an external control computer via interface.
Device-Setup
manual high voltage test
The high voltage test unit is built up completely modularly.
This design permits the operation even without a display
(ViT computer system).
The modular design of the testing instrument allows that
only the required modules are to be integrated.
