Lee Memorial Health System (LMHS) has served Southwest Florida for
over 90 years. Since our beginning, private support has allowed us to
excel in patient care. With changing markets and payment structures,
LMHS is continually challenged to provide affordable health care while
maintaining its standards of excellence. As health care evolves, the
need for private support will only increase. Programs and services that
sustain our non-profit mission could be severely impacted. These critical
initiatives, which provide medical care to the underinsured, education
to the health care consumer, and research to cure and combat various
diseases, will likely diminish. No matter what shape health care takes
in the future, allocated resources cannot possibly fund all the care,
education and research needed in our community.
All of us need to reach out to those in need and provide the care and
services they deserve. No one should be denied medical care. All should
have the ability to learn. Every disease should have a cure. Your support
ensures that the LMHS Foundation’s mission perseveres and that we will
continue to fulfill our commitment to supply these vital services and
programs to our community.
