Week 3 - CBC Fremantle

Exhibition
Wednesday, 24 October saw
the opening of CBC Fremantle’s
Annual Visual Arts Exhibition. The
doors opened at 7pm with a flow
of people entering and inspired by
the magnificent display of work
from Years 7 to 12 students.
Special guest, Mr. Toby Bell
officially opened the exhibition.
Toby is a Fremantle based
figurative sculptor and painter
who is also a GP. He works using
traditional techniques in
bronze, acrylics, oils and in
contemporary materials. Toby
has exhibited both nationally
and internationally. In 2010
he was the winner of the City
of Swan Sculpture Prize and
produced a large scale work
names Caliban, which was
created for Sculpture by the
Sea 2012, and explores the
passion and power of male and female
energy present within each individual. It
was wonderful to see Mrs Zoe Francis in
attendance with her family and we wish
her well during her maternity leave.
Matthew Brown was awarded the
Principal’s Award and a total of 53 students
were awarded Excellence Awards for their
commitment and development within the Art department throughout
the year.
A huge thank you goes to the Parent Council members; each year they take the
time to prepare and set up the food and drinks; Mr Tony Pitos; Mrs Fiona Williams and
Mr Shane Mancuso. Lastly thank you to all the families, friends and staff for attending the
opening night. The boys get a real buzz seeing their work on display and we appreciate your
