Graduate Recruitment and
Placement Fair
September - December
� Find out what help and advice is available from Purple Door
and attend sessions organised for job searching strategies,
confidence building and support with application forms.
� Collect your Graduate Employer Directories from Purple
Door.
� Attend Employer Twilight evenings with employers offering
graduate opportunities and training schemes.
� Attend the University Graduate Recruitment and Placement
Fair in November for information on career opportunities,
information to enhance your application and for possible
graduate internships.
Graduate Schemes � Graduate schemes open for applications. Make sure you
check any deadlines for those you wish to apply for. Many
have very early deadlines e.g. late September/October.
Postgraduate study options � Research postgraduate study options. Most courses do not
have deadlines - make contact with admissions tutors to
check their specific requirements.
� Explore funding – Resources available @ Purple Door and
Student Finance.
CV and cover letter
� Review the impact of your CV – do you need more work
experience? Find out about the volunteering and paid work
options that would give your CV the edge.
Application forms � Get help and feedback on your Application forms by booking
an appointment with a careers adviser.
Teacher Training � Explore the different routes available for getting into
Teaching: Apply through GTTR or direct to schools
depending on chosen route (ideally October/November for
primary). Help available from Purple Door see our online
events calendar.
� Volunteering Teacher Twilight event, Getting into Teaching
and How to Complete your GTTR application events in
October @ Purple Door.

Interview practice

and interview practice for graduate schemes and application

Small to Medium Employers (SMEs).
� This is a good time to register with the Purple Door

Ensure you are registered with Purple Door Recruitment for
help finding a job in the Hampshire area. Make sure they
have an up-to-date CV and contact details.
� If you are interested in working for an SME now is the time to
find out about graduate vacancies they are promoting.
