Ladies Singing Day with Lesley McClymont<br />

Join us for an informal day <strong>of</strong> singing. This is a social, fun occasion with others who love to sing. The<br />

day is run by a pr<strong>of</strong>essional singer who is an experienced performer and teacher. It involves easy<br />

unison and part-singing <strong>of</strong> modern and fun <strong>music</strong> from recent pop to <strong>music</strong>al theatre. No experience<br />

is necessary and it doesn’t matter if you don’t read <strong>music</strong> or have never sung before. Bring a picnic<br />

lunch with you for this social and <strong>music</strong>al day. Places are limited so book early to avoid<br />

disappointment.<br />

After completing a degree in Music & Drama, Lesley completed her training at the Royal Academy <strong>of</strong><br />

Music. Her theatre credits include ‘Goodbye Barcelona’ Arcola Theatre, ‘Canterville Ghost’, ‘Alice,<br />

the Musical’. ‘Christmas Carol’ and ‘Pickwick’ all for the Haymarket Theatre (Basingstoke), ‘In the<br />

Midnight Hour’ Haymarket (Basingstoke) and Civic Arts Theatre (Belfast), ‘HMS Pinafore’ National<br />

Tour, D’Oyly Carte Opera Co, ‘The Mikado’ National Tour, Carl Rosa Opera Co, ‘Sweeney Todd’<br />

Haymarket Theatre (Leicester) and Royal Festival Hall, ‘Into the Woods’ Theatre Royal (York).<br />

Lesley is a regular choreographer and performer at London’s famous Players Theatre and divides her<br />

time between teaching and performing pr<strong>of</strong>essionally. She also launched and runs Arts Unlimited, a<br />

company providing pr<strong>of</strong>essional training for students and adults with Summers Schools, Day<br />

workshops and Holiday Courses.<br />

Tickets £8 / £4 concessions, <strong>University</strong> students and staff, under 16’s, UCMA and<br />

In a step up from the usual, two pianos – four hands concert at this time <strong>of</strong> year (that’s<br />

inflation for you), the piano faculty, plus a few hangers-on, present a scintillating<br />

programme featuring <strong>music</strong> by Reich, Britten, Morton Gould and Malcolm Williamson.<br />

Six pianos in one venue: not to be missed.
