As an enterprise we need an image, so that we can be recognized by our customers, our suppliers and other external parties. The image of an enterprise is especially important for its employees. Only those employees who are familiar with the corporate image can identify with their company and be enthusiastic about their work. Enthusiastic employees, in turn, are a prerequisite for satisfied and enthused customers. The purpose of this brochure is to present our image to you. We therefore in- vite you to become acquainted with us as one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of luminaires. LITE-LICHT GmbH and its brands ENJOY LIGHT Originally, LITE-LICHT GmbH was founded in 1969 with the name “Licht und Technik” (Light and Technology). Since this name, as well as the alternative “Licht-Technik” (Light Technology) was not accepted during the registration procedure, the company was established under the name “LT Licht-Tech- nik GmbH” on December 23, 1969. The company logo was introduced in the following years as a graphic representation of the letters “LT”. This was supplemented by a stylized image of the sun, similar to the logo of the 1972 Olympics in Munich. The company’s further development into the “LITE-LICHT” brand began in the 1970s when the name “LT Licht-Technik GmbH” was too long for one customer’s computer database. This customer therefore sug- gested shortening the name to “Lite”. That the term “Lite” corresponds to the Ameri- can word for “light” was a little known fact at the time. To express the company’s area of activity in the name, the word “Licht” was added to form the name “LITE-LICHT”. Since that time, professional lighting systems for commercial, public, governmental and other prestigious areas of utilization have been developed and implement- ed under the brand name “LITE-LICHT”. Today, the name “LITE-LICHT” is frequently understood as a play on words, in which the word “light” is compounded in two languages. Nevertheless, we still insist on the original pronounciation of our name. In 1982, the professional light sector “LITE-LICHT” was expanded to include the sale of luminaires for private customers. In the search for a brand name, Otto Liehr coined the name “StarLicht” in 1982. The name “itec” developed in 1987, is an abbreviation for “Industrie und Technik” (Industry and Technology). Today, lighting systems for the manufacturing industry are sold under the name “itec”. LITE-LICHT GmbH and its brands On the 20th December 2000 “LT Licht- Technik GmbH” was renamed “LITE-LICHT GmbH”, which as of 2007 is present on the market under the slogan “Enjoy Light”. “Enjoy Light” expresses our corporate image, since an important element of our corporate mission is that people enjoy the light from our lighting systems. At the same time, “Enjoy Light” expresses the way our company sees itself as a manufacturer of luminaires.
