COMPANY HISTORY SINCE 3 GENERATIONS The company building in the 1970s Aerial view taken in the mid-1980s Aerial view from the year 2007 COMPANY HISTORY The activities of todays LITE-LICHT GmbH go back to a commercial agency founded in 1948 by Otto Liehr for the sale of luminaires and lamps. 1969 LT Licht-Technik GmbH was founded in Herzebrock by Otto Liehr and his son Wilfried (Liehr). 1971 Company relocated to the industrial area of Herzebrock. Continuous expansion of production and warehouse capacities in several phases of construction: Between 1972 and 1994, a total of 8 production and warehouse halls were erected, in addition to several administrative buildings. 1982 Introduction of the StarLicht brand for the sale of lights to private customers. 1987 Introduction of the itec brand, initially for the supply of products foreign to the trade and customized light solutions for the manufacturing industry. 1992 Construction of the plant in Bartensleben (Saxony-Anhalt). 1993 Founding of the first foreign subsidiaries: Morex ‘93 in Hungary and L-Contact in Poland. 1995 Death of Otto Liehr. 1998 Founding of the distributors STAR-LITE France S.A.R.L. (France), LITE-LICHT d.o.o. (Croatia) and LITE-LICHT Benelux B.V. (Netherlands). 1999 Founding of the first subsidiary outside of Europe: StarLite Electronics Co. Ltd. (China). Additional subsidiaries were established in the following years in Spain (StarLite Ibérica S.L.), Hungary (LITE-LICHT Kft.) and Romania (LITE-LICHT ROMANIA S.R.L.). 2000 LT Licht-Technik GmbH was renamed LITE-LICHT GmbH. 2006 Robert Bastian was appointed managing director in addition to Wilfried Liehr. 2007 Dr. Marcus Liehr, representing the third generation, joins the management. CORPORATE IMAGE COMPANY VISION AND MISSION Our topmost goal is to be a successful enterprise. The achievement of this goal places high demands on the behaviour of every one of us. The basis of orientation for this is a clear corporate image, consisting of our corporate vision and mission and our corporate values. We want this corporate image to be more than just words on a piece of paper and to represent more than a collection of melodious declarations of intent. The corporate image is our philosophy, which continuously brings our company forward and reflects our corporate and social responsibility. At the same time, the corporate image should be of practical use in our daily business activities. But this image can develop its effectiveness only if this mission statement is accepted by all of us and implemented in our everyday working life. Each individual plays an important role in this process. Because LITE-LICHT GmbH is characterized by the sum of our actions. Page 12 I ENJOY LIGHT More than 390 employees worldwide are working together to realize our vision: Your Daily Light – we create solutions that are used everywhere, every day. Light is everywhere in our modern age and it is impossible to imagine living without it. Light affects our well-being. Therefore, the right illumination is always a decisive factor for more quality of life. Our brands LITE-LICHT, StarLicht and itec offer people various light solutions to accompany them throughout their everyday life. In the morning and evening, the home is illuminated by Star- Licht and itec luminaires. During the day, for example at work or school, the light solutions from LITE-LICHT create a pleasant working and learning atmos- phere. And in shopping malls and at cul- tural events, our luminaires also show everything in its right colours. CORPORATE IMAGE The mission of LITE-LICHT GmbH is to be an innovative provider of light solutions that serve to improve the quality of life. This mission consists of three related elements: 1. CUSTOMERS Our activities are oriented towards creat- ing advantages for our customers. That is why we are concerned with their needs and requirements. 2. PRODUCTS When developping our luminaires we make sure that their light not only helps people to see. Since light affects our well-being, we want to make light to be an experi- ence for people. Therefore, our luminaires are designed not only to satisfy aesthetic, functional and energy requirements, but also to positively affect the well-being and health of the people using them. 3. ECONOMY We want to manage the enterprise on a solid financial basis with profitable and continuous growth, in order to enable in- vestments for further growth and to create and secure jobs.
