The Chicago Blues Festival remains the largest of the city’s music<br />
festivals; taking place over three days across five stages, more than<br />
500,000 blues fans descend on Chicago to celebrate the Blues legends<br />
of the past, present and future. Since its beginning in 1984, to celebrate<br />
Muddy Waters, the festival has been graced with performers including<br />
Bonnie Raitt, Ray Charles and B.B. King. Whether it’s Chuck Berry<br />
sharing the stage with Keith Richards or John Lee Hooker singing<br />
'Boogie Chillen’, if you’re in Chicago in mid June the Blues Festival is<br />

The Taste of Chicago is a fantastic way for tourists and locals alike to sample a<br />
variety of foods from nearly 60 of the city’s restaurants. Each vendor serves six<br />
items, two of which are special ‘taste of’ portions, meaning you can spend the<br />
day sampling the cuisine of a variety of eateries, while enjoying the music and<br />
activities on offer.<br />

This popular event was originally established as three separate festivals—<br />
one in memory of composer Duke Ellington, another held for the late John<br />
Coltrane, and the third planned by the Jazz Institute of Chicago. Taking place<br />
annually in the lead up to Labor Day Weekend, the festival has attracted such<br />
jazz greats as Joe Lavano, David Liebman, Ravi Coltrane, Cassandra Wilson<br />
and Roy Hargrove.<br />
