ANNUAL REPORT 2004-2005 

Dear Ursuline Family Members, 

As this Annual Report goes to press we look back on the last year with a great 

deal of gratitude—it was a very good year (to quote an old Tijuana Brass song). 

Our theme for this past year was: “We are walking on holy ground.” Within the 

past year much ground on campus was torn up, but then we gradually saw the new 

Convocation and Athletic Center grow before our eyes and the ground did seem 

very blessed. Ursuline also broke ground with the implementation of a new technology 

plan which placed Smartboards in each classroom and made lap tops available 

for all teachers, along with additional banks of computers available around 

campus. 

All of these improvements at Ursuline are possible because of the generous sharing 

of time, talents and treasure by you and so many members of our Ursuline 

family. We are indeed very grateful that you are willing to make this journey with 

us as we strive to make Ursuline a better place for the young women who are at 

the heart of our mission. 

In addition to the new physical improvements to the Ursuline campus, of which 

we are very proud, we know that what really shows the life of the school rests with some less tangible but very real aspects. For 

example the Class of 2005 showed the spirit of Serviam in completing 26,672 hours of service during their four years at Ursuline. 

This past year we offered students the opportunity to go on four out-of-town service trips to Matamoros, Mexico, New York, 

Frontenac, Minnesota and Ellington, Missouri, to spread the spirit of Serviam even further. In the area of diversity, Ursuline has 

become known for its Leadership for Diversity Program, so that many other schools consult with us as they develop their own 

programs. Likewise, other Catholic high schools for women in our area are coming to Ursuline to learn about and observe our 

Mission Effectiveness program. 

Our theme for the new year is “Growing in Gratitude,” appropriately chosen because we have so much for which to be grateful 

here at Ursuline. You and your sharing of gifts with us are high on our list of gratitude prayers. 

Many of you are aware that this will be my last year at Ursuline. I am truly sorry to leave after twelve wonderful years of being 

part of this community. I am also blessed that my new role, Director of Sponsorship for the Central Province of Ursuline Sisters, 

will bring me back to Ursuline in St. Louis on a regular basis. Thank you for all the support I have experienced from you during 

these twelve years. It is not difficult for me to daily “Grow in Gratitude.”
