News RF system ups fuel security OPW Fuel Management Systems has launched the PetroLink Fuel Control System, a system that enables fleet managers to monitor vehicle IDs, mileage and other important fueling information through radio frequency (RFID) technology. PetroLink provides a high level of fuel security and accountability, accurately capturing data without driver intervention. It needs no wires, fuel-authorization cards and the makers says the components are quick and easy to install. It will not allow fuel to be dispensed unless the proper RFID tag is identified and unless the PetroLink meter receives an accurate odometer reading. Bonnymans also supplies cleaning materials to car washes, car valeting operators and sanitisers and general chemicals for a variety of purposes. It has a £5.2 million turnover and MD Stephen Allam is determined to break the £1 millionworth of internet trade to celebrate his 25 years of ownership of the Ayrshire-based company. MORE INFORMATION www.bonnymans.co.uk FPS EXPO 2011: Exhibitors snapping up extra stands DEMAND FROM POTENTIAL EXHIBITORS TO SHOW AT FPS EXPO 2011 has been so strong that they have snapped up almost all the additional stands created when the organisers re-designed the hall layouts. At the time of writing, just two of nearly two dozen extra stands remained available for the EXPO, which takes place at the Harrogate International Centre on 13-14 April 2011. “Demand has been tremendous,” said EXPO Organiser Vanessa Cook. “We re-organised the halls to create extra stands after we completely sold out of space as long ago as September. Now it looks as if all the additional stands will be spoken for by the end of the year.” “It’s shaping up to be another highly successful event.” Running alongside the exhibition on both days will be a series of workshops for delegates. Closing dates are 4 February for Driver, 18 February for Employee. ■ In answering how your entrant has ‘gone the extra mile’, think about great customer service, outstanding environmental care, thoughtfulness about procedures. ■ DRIVERS will have an interview, so brief your nominated driver on the award beforehand so that they can prepare. Please reassure them that the interview is a relaxed occasion. We’re not out to catch anyone out, we want to find out how much they enjoy their job. There is no need for them to be nervous. ■ Allow DRIVERS enough time for the interview: remember, they will be under pressure from knowing someone is coming to see them. It’s not fair on the driver to expect them to slot the interview in between deliveries! ■ In the case of EMPLOYEES, have they shown initiative in dealing with a situation, or in contributing ideas and/or helped to build the business?
