demonstrations<br />
LCPC has collaborated with 31 SME’s in Lebanon<br />
distributed among several industrial sub-sectors.<br />
These sectors are:<br />
Dairy sector<br />
Agro-food canning sector<br />
Paper and cardboard sector<br />
Aluminum production sector<br />
Ceramic production sector<br />
Plastic production and recycling sector<br />
Textile sector<br />
Olive oil sector.<br />
The CP options implemented in each SME that participated<br />
in the LCPC programmes have led to a total<br />
yearly savings of more than One Million USD.<br />

Dissemination Seminar for Textile<br />
Sector and Others<br />
The dissemination seminar for the Textile sector and<br />
others was held at the IRI on the 9th of March 2010.<br />
During the seminar, In-plant demonstrations of the<br />
Textile sector and others were presented and relative<br />
manuals were distributed to the participants.<br />
The manuals detailed the CP methodology and techniques<br />
in general and their application at the Textile<br />
SME’s in particular. In addition they summarized<br />
the successful stories of the SME’s that participated<br />
with the LCPC, shedding the light on the savings<br />
they achieved in energy, water and other raw materials<br />
consumption.<br />
During the ceremony, certificates were distributed to<br />
4 SME’s from the textile sector and 2 SME’s from<br />
the Agro-food sectors that applied the CP concept<br />
in their industries as well as to five CP experts that<br />
have participated in latest In-plant demonstration organized<br />
by the LCPC.<br />
Initial Seminar and site visits: Olive<br />
Oil Sector in Lebanon<br />
The Initial Seminar introduced the SME’s of the olive<br />
oil sector in Lebanon to the concept and methodologies<br />
of CP and the purpose of the demonstration<br />
project and took place in the IRI premises on<br />
Wednesday 9th June 2010.<br />
The LCPC screened and selected 6 companies from<br />
14 applicants to undertake the In-Plant demonstration<br />
programme:<br />
Company Boulos for Industry and Trade<br />
Said Saifan Foundation<br />
Presses Sheikh Sleiman El Daher<br />
Agricultural Cooperative Association<br />
in Rashaya El Foukhar<br />
Badawee Olive Oil<br />
Presses Modern El Rashid.<br />
After the selection of SME’s, LCPC team and CP assessors<br />
undertaked site visits to collect primary data<br />
and sign the binding contract between LCPC and<br />
each of the selected SME’s. These site visits took<br />
place on 22nd – 23rd of July 2010.<br />
CP implementation at UNIPAK: Paper<br />
and Cardboard Sector<br />
LCPC developed and implemented new services integrated<br />
with CP methodologies in one industry within<br />
previous sectors: Paper and Cardboard Sector.<br />
UNIPAK: Union Packaging Corporation<br />
This company is implementing CP methodologies<br />
and is a part of the IPA programme including site visits.<br />
The first site visit took place on 19th November<br />
2010.<br />
