In February <strong>2012</strong> OMV Petrom and ExxonMobil Exploration and Production<br />
Romania Ltd (EMEPRL) announced a gas discovery at the exploration<br />
well Domino-1 located in the Romanian sector of the Black<br />
Sea. The potential of the gas deposit is estimated between 42 billion<br />
cu m and 84 billion cu m.<br />
OMV Petrom claimed a 37% market share on the Romanian market of<br />
fuels in 2011.<br />

Capacity<br />
In Romania and Kazakhstan, OMV Petrom Group exploits proved oil<br />
and gas reserves of approximately 812 million boe, of which 786 million<br />
boe in Romania and had a maximum annual refi ning capacity of<br />
4.5 million tonnes as of end-2011.<br />
OMV Petrom has a total of 793 fi lling stations in Romania, Moldova,<br />
Serbia and Bulgaria, operating under the Petrom and OMV brands.<br />
In Romania the company also operates an 860 MW power plant in<br />
Brazi, in central Romania, and a 45 MW wind park in Dorobantu, in<br />
southeastern Romania.<br />
Investments<br />
In the period 2005-2011 OMV Petrom SA’s investments totaled 29.601<br />
billion lei. In <strong>2012</strong> the company plans to invest 5.2 billion lei and up to<br />
60 billion lei by 2030.<br />
OMV Petrom invested a total 1.0 billion euro in the modernisation of<br />
its two refi neries by 2011.<br />

In June 2009 OMV Petrom started the construction of the 860 MW<br />
Brazi gas-fi red power plant, worth some 500 million euro. In May 2009<br />
the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction<br />
and Development (EBRD) extended a 200 million euro loan<br />
each to OMV Petrom for the construction of the plant.<br />
