<strong>Italy</strong>: <strong>Irisbus</strong> <strong>Iveco</strong> <strong>launches</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>new</strong> <strong>Proxys</strong><br />
<strong>and</strong> <strong>Proway</strong> <strong>range</strong><br />
The <strong>Irisbus</strong> Italia official launch of <strong>the</strong> <strong>new</strong> <strong>Proxys</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Proway</strong> midibuses took place on<br />
9th <strong>and</strong> 10th June in <strong>the</strong> magnificent setting of <strong>the</strong> Portofino coast attended by<br />
journalists from specialist publications <strong>and</strong> 50 VIP guests.<br />
The <strong>Irisbus</strong> <strong>Iveco</strong> tourist <strong>range</strong> is enhanced by <strong>the</strong> <strong>new</strong> <strong>Proxys</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Proway</strong>, <strong>the</strong> former<br />
is a <strong>new</strong> midibus which has <strong>the</strong> properties of a tourist bus whilst being slightly longer<br />
than a minibus; <strong>the</strong> latter has been designed for inter-city service.<br />

The official launch took place on 9th June in Portofino (GE) where Enrico Vassallo,<br />
General Manager of <strong>Irisbus</strong> Italia introduced <strong>the</strong> <strong>new</strong> midibuses to <strong>the</strong> press <strong>and</strong> on <strong>the</strong><br />
next day <strong>the</strong> vehicles were presented to 50 VIP guests accompanied by dealership<br />
sales <strong>and</strong> marketing managers in Camogli.<br />
The location, intended to be a reminder of <strong>the</strong> vehicle's connection with tourism,<br />
allowed journalists <strong>and</strong> guests to try <strong>and</strong> out <strong>the</strong> performance of <strong>the</strong> vehicle on <strong>the</strong><br />
winding roads, similar to those in Liguria.<br />
Although <strong>the</strong> two vehicles are designed for different purposes, <strong>the</strong>y share <strong>the</strong> same<br />
appearance: <strong>Proxys</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Proway</strong> are proud examples of <strong>Irisbus</strong> <strong>Iveco</strong> vehicles, a perfect<br />
marriage between a sleek profile <strong>and</strong> contemporary design. Like <strong>the</strong> rest of <strong>the</strong> <strong>Irisbus</strong><br />
<strong>Iveco</strong> <strong>range</strong>, <strong>Proxys</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Proway</strong> combine practicality with comfort <strong>and</strong> also<br />
performance, simplicity, low maintenance costs <strong>and</strong> reliability over a period of time.<br />
Thanks to <strong>the</strong> different configurations available, <strong>Proxys</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Proway</strong> offer <strong>the</strong> possibility<br />
of transporting passengers to meet all customer's needs: between 28 <strong>and</strong> 36<br />
passengers can enjoy a high level of comfort. The driver's seat is spacious <strong>and</strong><br />
ergonomically designed with an ideal position which all contributes in making <strong>the</strong>ir daily<br />
tasks easier.<br />
Both vehicles are equipped with pneumatic suspension <strong>and</strong> a tested, reliable engine,<br />
<strong>the</strong> Tector 6 litre Euro 5 160 kW (217 bhp). The <strong>Proxys</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Proway</strong> will be available on<br />
<strong>the</strong> Italian market in 8.45m <strong>and</strong> 7.65m versions.<br />
The smile of <strong>the</strong> <strong>Irisbus</strong> <strong>Iveco</strong> dolphin is now displayed on an entire <strong>range</strong> of coaches.
Indeed, a true flagship vehicle has exp<strong>and</strong>ed <strong>the</strong> <strong>Irisbus</strong> <strong>Iveco</strong> family of gr<strong>and</strong> tourism<br />
coaches: <strong>the</strong> three-axle Magelys HDH, 13.8 metres long <strong>and</strong> 3.81 metres high.<br />
With its three possible lengths (12.2 m, 12.8 m <strong>and</strong> 13.8 m) <strong>and</strong> two possible heights<br />
(3.62 m <strong>and</strong> 3.81 m), <strong>the</strong> Magelys family comprising <strong>the</strong> Magelys HD (presented at<br />
Busworld Kortrijk in October 2007) <strong>and</strong> its <strong>new</strong> raised version <strong>the</strong> HDH, which is<br />
unveiled today, meets <strong>the</strong> many needs of transport companies in <strong>the</strong> gr<strong>and</strong> tourism<br />
market.<br />
