Alluvial deposition - fine grained material left by rivers<br />

Anadromous fi sh - fi sh that ascend freshwater ri vers from <strong>the</strong> ocean<br />

in order to breed<br />

Argillites - a compact rock derived from ei<strong>the</strong>r mudstone or shale<br />

Conifer - forest containing both evergreen trees (pine. spruce. etc.)<br />

Diorite plutons - igneous rocks formed at considerable depth intermediate<br />
