The concept for The Mixing Spoon began a few years ago. Deb
Jackson and Colleen Hovey set out to develop a new fundraising idea.
A group of senior high students (their own daughters included) from
Delburne School were going to France, and they needed a fresh idea
to take to the community. The community really responded, and Deb
and Colleen soon saw that they weren’t the only parents looking for
a simple fundraising idea that they didn't have to feel guilty about
selling to family and friends.
When customers started to ask where they would be able to get the
jars once the fundraiser was finished (and the nicest compliment of
all, "Can I have the recipe?"), they realized that the potential was there
to take it to the next level. Starting in January of 2008, they took their
10 best recipes and offered them to schools, sports organizations,
community groups, and anyone else needing to fundraise. The
response has been outstanding, with nearly 30 groups province wide
benefiting from the program last year.
The Mixing Spoon offers premium quality soup, brownie, cookie and
muffin mixes. Our jars are beautifully packaged, making them perfect
for gift giving as well as to fill your own pantry shelves. Our products
are priced right, so they are easy for your participants to sell. We have
no frozen product, only dry mixes, so it’s an organizer’s dream. With a
very good profit margin for your organization, The Mixing Spoon is a
great choice for your fundraising needs.
Commerce and look forward to meeting many of you over the next
while.
