Boots, Bridles, and <strong>Books</strong><br />

Come to <strong>the</strong> library to learn about famous horses like Blaze,<br />

Flicka, Seabiscuit, Comanche, and Trigger! In this session, we’ll<br />

read books about horses and learn about riding <strong>the</strong>m. Horse<br />

colors and breeds, horse safety, riding gear, and much more are<br />

covered in this class. You won’t want to miss <strong>the</strong> excitement of<br />

Boots, Bridles, and <strong>Books</strong> at <strong>the</strong> library, provided by Kansas City’s<br />

Fancy Nancy and <strong>the</strong> Posh Puppy<br />

Fancy Nancy’s family decides to get a dog, and she is certain<br />

that it can be a fancy dog too. She thinks that a papillon--a<br />

small, delicate, fluffy dog-- is <strong>the</strong> ultimate accessory. But her<br />

family wants a large plain dog. How unglamorous! She discovers<br />

that real fanciness does not depend simply on appearance,<br />

you more about police dogs and what <strong>the</strong>y do. Don’t miss this<br />

Missouri Fur Bearer Presentation<br />

This program provides a look at <strong>the</strong> common fur bearing mammals<br />

of Missouri and <strong>the</strong>ir unique characteristics, adaptations,<br />

and habits. We will discuss trapping methods and <strong>the</strong> importance<br />

of trapping and hunting of furbearers through history. There will<br />

also be an opportunity to examine and feel <strong>the</strong> pelts of several of<br />

Missouri’s furbearers. Ages 4 and up<br />
