SICS, Swedish Institute of Computer Science (January 1998 - Present) Computer and Network Laboratory,
research staff.
2003-Present:
Work on sensor networks and cross layer issues, in particular for congestion control.
2000-2002:
Extended the work on overload protection and QoS for web servers, started at IBM Watson in several aspects:
Dealing with persistent connections that present a challenging problem for web server admission
control, making the architecture adaptive to the current workload, showing how the mechanisms can be used
in a collaborative way, using scheduling to provide QoS.
1998-1999:
Implemented resource reservation and communication protocols in Nemesis, an experimental soft real-time
operating system. Conducted experiments to show how TCP/IP can utilize Nemesis’ resource reservation
capabilities to provide a deterministic communication service.

Worked on various items including, mobile web service performance, mobile entertainment and sensor networks.

IBM TJ Watson Research Center (March 2000 - July 2000) internship.
Worked on overload protection and QoS for web servers. Designed and implemented kernel-based mechanisms
to provide overload protection and QoS. Conducted experiments to show the improved efficiency and
scalability compared to mechanisms implemented in user space.
