Seeing the Shortcoming Beforehand - It especially holds true from the saying that the best way to
determine the flaws and shortcomings of a person would be that from the eyes of another. Analysis of past
experiences, working relationships and career outlook can be properly assessed if they are allowed to be
viewed by a third party, more so, a person who specializes in counselling and guidance.
Helps in Finding True Potential - There are children who know what they want to be. And then there
are those who find it tough to make their mind when it comes to choosing a career path. On the basis of
counselling results, students can make informed decisions regarding what course they want to enrol into, to
reach their chosen career destination.
Clears Confusion - Despite being aware of what they want to do, some students usually have no idea
about the academic path they should follow to qualify academically for their chosen field/career.
Counselling can also help students overcome this confusion by giving them clear cut view of what to expect
from various study courses offered by numerous institute.
Helps Make Clear Decisions - Counselling also helps those students, who were raised on
preconceived notions that they must follow the path of their parents, e.g., if both parents are doctors then
kids are expected to be one too. Good counselling session help students see themselves, first and foremost
as an individual, who might not be interested in following on their parents footsteps and could be better
suited for some other career.
Lack of CAREER COUNSELING can lead to MID CAREER CRISIS.
Mid-career employees are more likely to question the meaning of their work, the value of their
company's mission, their job autonomy, their contributions, and their relationships. It’s often a period of
much uncertainty and confusion, and it is likened to an emotional roller coaster ride.
The issue with a mid-career crisis is that it is something that can affect your whole family. Think
about it what a career change could mean to them. Remember that you should not turn away from
something that makes you happy just because you think that your family might not approve. This is
something that you need to speak with your family about. What do they feel about it, and what can you do
to make sure that they are going to be comfortable with this idea. Take some time and really connect with
them about your decisions.
Mid-career crisis can be explained best by using the example of FARHAN from the movie ‘3 IDIOTS’.
He entered the engineering field as per his parents wish but left it incomplete for his interest in WILDLIFE
PHOTOGRAPHY. Had he undergone some sort of CAREER COUNSELING, it would have saved him a good
amount of money and time and he might have escaped this MID-CAREER CRISIS.
Career counselling can provide you with a clear picture of where you are, and which direction you
are headed in. Today, more and more students, jobseekers and career changers are relying on career
websites and portals for professional counsel. Whether it is about making a perfect resume, interviews,
investigating occupations, job search methods or career planning and early career success, it is all there for
you. At the end of the day, it is only you who will be responsible for your career. The counselling career section,
therefore, is dedicated to students, job seekers, working parents, mid-career changers and everyone who is
looking to make an ideal career.
