YC&AC hosted the 8 th Footy Japan Cup Final on July 10, with the YC&AC’s own First Team facing the Kanto Celts in what would prove a game of considerable quality. Sadly for the Firsts their superior skill and pace were not enough to overcome the more robust approach of the Kanto Celts, who ultimately prevailed, 2-1. Credit to the Celts for an excellent team display, and better luck next year to the Firsts. You can read a review of the YC&AC First Team’s season on pages 16–17. Footy Japan, which runs the Cup competition in tandem with the Tokyo Metropolis League, also operates the well known coaching brand the British Football Academy. The BFA holds sessions on weekdays at the Club and at other venues besides, and will again be holding a football camp on the YC&AC grounds this summer. Committees The active involvement of members is essential to the successful running of our Club. The Club presently has seven committees—Entertainment, Finance, Food and Beverages, House and Facilities, Marketing and Communications, Membership and Rules, and Sports—in which members play a role in shaping the direction of the Club.
