Michigan Bell will award a<br />
Schoolcraft College student a<br />
$1,000 scholarship as part of the<br />
company's scholarship program<br />
for community college students..<br />
To be eligible for the Michigan<br />
Bell scholarship, a student must<br />
be Michigan resident studying<br />
business administration of engineering<br />
full time at Schoolcraft<br />
College. Students coming directly<br />
from high school, as well as nontraditional<br />
students, are encouraged<br />
to apply. Applicants must<br />
have a grade-point average of at<br />
least 3.0.<br />
The application deadline is<br />
Thursday, Aug. 19. Students who<br />
wish to apply for the scholarship<br />
should call the Schoolcraft Institutional<br />
Advancement office at<br />
462-4417.<br />

winners were Carmen<br />
Saleh and Anne Fleszar of Livonia<br />

SC to host<br />
cage tourney<br />
Schoolcraft College will host<br />
the M&M Classic 3-on-3 Baskethall<br />
Jam on Sept. 11-12 in the college's<br />
physical education building.<br />
The Jam is open to males and<br />
females of all ages, from grade<br />
school through professional. Divisions<br />
are based on height, age and<br />
experience. Teams consist of<br />
three or four players and each<br />
player can participate on only one<br />
team in the tournament.<br />
The contest is set up as a double<br />
elimination tournament and<br />
trophies will be awarded for each<br />
winning division. There will also<br />
be a 3-point and slam dunk contest<br />
with prizes for the winners.<br />
Interested players must register<br />
by Sept. 1. Entry fee is $60. All<br />
proceeds go to the Schoolcraft<br />
College Athletic Fund.<br />

Prospective fall kindergarten<br />
students and their families and<br />
other community members are invited<br />
Kindergarten teachers and<br />
-taff members will provide information<br />
about enrollment, tuition,<br />
scholarship and other topics.<br />
Fall 1993 enrollment for the<br />
