MOSES LAKE CHAPTER<br />

Members in The Moses Lake Chapter of the <strong>Grant</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>LEPC</strong> held their monthly<br />

Attendance: meeting at the <strong>Grant</strong> <strong>County</strong> Public Utility District #2 office located on<br />

3 rd Street in Moses Lake at 11:00 am on May 12, 2011.<br />

The meeting was called to order by Steve and introductions were made.<br />

Brett DeVries The minutes were reviewed and a motion was made by Lind to accept the<br />

minutes as written, motion was seconded by Rick, motion passed.<br />

<strong>Grant</strong> PUD<br />

Dave Moore III. Hazardous Materials Spills<br />

Moses Lake May 11 th , REC experienced an event inside the Silane IV waste treatment<br />

Industries plant, there were no injuries to people. The small detonation broke the<br />

Michael Kertzman vent stack, maintenance was completed the day before, the situation is<br />

under investigation. Currently the plant is running at a reduced<br />

<strong>Grant</strong> <strong>County</strong> production rate. The event occurred at approximately 3:30 am.<br />

<strong>Grant</strong> <strong>County</strong> Technical Search & Rescue Update, Leonard was not present to update<br />

Solid Waste the committee.<br />

Don Sell Yellowstone Pipeline held their annual Boom Deployment Exercise on<br />

Luis Guerrero April 27 th and 28 th . ICS training was conducted on the morning of the 27 th<br />

with a table top exercise in the afternoon. On April 28 th the deployment<br />

American of the boom was completed, between 25-30 people were in attendance.<br />

Red Cross A total of 250 feet of boom was deployed as well as skimmers and set<br />

Nadie Southwick up of the portable tank. Yellowstone has purchased a larger trailer for<br />

their equipment which made the deployment process easier.<br />

Air Liquide TRANSCAER training, Lind is surveying the <strong>LEPC</strong>’s to see if there is an<br />

John Guerra interest in having the railcar and training brought into <strong>Grant</strong> <strong>County</strong>. The time<br />

Joan Melvin with <strong>Grant</strong> <strong>County</strong> Solid Waste gave a presentation about<br />

TK Holdings Recycling opportunities and the Solid Waste collection day. If you have<br />
