NOTE ON UNPUBLISHED SOURCES<br />
The <strong>British</strong> <strong>Film</strong> <strong>Institute</strong>'s <strong>Film</strong> and TV Title Index,<br />
located in BFI National Library, has included TV<br />
drama titles transmitted in the London region since<br />
1975. Additionally, the BFI's collection of newspaper<br />
cuttinqs, which includes UK TV drama, is arranged<br />
by title and goes back to the late forties/early fifties.<br />
The BFI Book Library has copies of all the published<br />
sources mentioned above.<br />

BBC PROGRAMME INDEX UNIT AND THE IBA<br />
ARE NO LONGER AT THESE LOCATIONS<br />
The BBC has a Programme Index (Room 14, The<br />
Langham, Portland Place, London Wl) with various<br />
sequences, including title, contributor and subject.<br />
Access is free for private researchers, although a fee<br />
is chargeable for research for companies and organi<br />
s a t i o n s . Specific written enquiries should be<br />
a d d ressed to the Prog ramme Corre s p o n d e n c e<br />
Section of the BBC, and telephone enquiries are not<br />
normally catered for.<br />
The Independent Broadcasting Au t h o r i t y ' s<br />
Information Office will often help with identification<br />
of particular ITV titles, but only by letter or phone.<br />
The IBA's Library is open to the public, and has a<br />
large collection of cuttings about TV programmes<br />
arranged chronologically, and by category, though<br />
not by title. The IBA is at 70 Brompton Road, London<br />
