Beyond my Business Card Beyond my Business Card... Email Matt: matts@masprovideo.com Tom Grabinski Why you should know him: Tom Grabinski manages his family owned business, On Call Restoration. He's the guy to call if a pipe breaks in your basement or you find mold in your house. The company works to get your property back to normal as fast as possible. On Call Restoration is: We are a full service restoration company serving central and east central Iowa. We assist owners, insurance companies, lenders and property managers with their crisis real estate management needs. Matt Sheko Why you should know him: Matt Sheko is the owner of MAS Productions, a full service video production company. He can help you create commercials, training videos, how-to videos and much more. He's worked in the industry for years, and even works with ESPN on live sports broadcasts. What I do: I consult, support and create video content for businesses, television networks, organizations and for my own ventures. This work involves live broadcasts, commercials, marketing, training, customer support, social media and events. My typical day at work: One of the biggest attractions for me about my work is the day to day diversity. A typical day in my job: We dry out properties following floods or water line breaks, clean up after fires, empty out hoarder properties, clean up biohazards and do build back of the properties where necessary. Further, our truck mount extraction equipment enables us to perform state of the art carpet cleaning. When I'm not working: In my free time I spend time with my six children and their families. If I’m in the office I may be creating a proposal for a new client, writing scripts, planning my next project or editing. When I’m out of the office, I could be working on a live sports broadcast for ESPN or the Big Ten Network, on location shooting a video, or in a meeting consulting with a client. I enjoy not having a routine and being able to work with a variety of clients and circumstances. How I got my start: I started in video when I was 15 years old with a program in high school, I was lucky to find a career I loved very early in life. I excelled at all aspects of video production and found freelance work with the local cable TV system, and other production companies while I was still in high school, and that’s how I’ve earned a living for the last 25 years. Why Grinnell: I moved to Grinnell from Detroit to start a new video production department for a local company. After 5 years I wanted to get back to running my own business. Grinnell really grew on me during this time. I think the town has a lot to offer a family, it’s progressive, the community involvement is great, and the people here are fantastic. I look forward to supporting the community and helping out other local businesses. Something most people don't know about me: I would like to try my hand at writing and directing a comedy movie, and try stand up. When your garage door stops working or it's time to upgrade to a new one, give them a call. What The Door Doctor is: The Door Doctor offers sales, service, and installation of residential and commercial overhead doors and openers. How the business has changed since we started: When we bought the business, it was based out tcspgrinnell of Newton. We bought a building (formerly Classic Car Wash on Highway 146) in Grinnell and have moved our family here to Grinnell as well! However, we have always serviced many towns surrounding Grinnell and Newton. This year, we hired an office manager, Lisa. My typical work day: I typically spend a minimal amount of time in the office, now that we have an office manager. I am primarily servicing and installing garage doors - what I love to do most! Beyond my Business Card... Most challenging part of the job: Getting the black grease off my hands at the end of the day? Truthfully, I love what I do. Why Grinnell: My family has enjoyed and appreciated the simplicity and diversity that Grinnell has to offer. When I'm not working: We have four boys, ages seven and under.
