CLASS OFFICERS
Standing: C. Mondor, H.
Hanson, L. Swanson. Seated:
D. Roley, D. Finkenbinder.
Looking behind them at their silly pranks of the first two years, the Seniors glance enviously
at the Advanced they are to replace next year.
Secretary Dagney Roley is one of our quiet and ambitious classmates. Dagney ranks high on
the scholarship list. Perhaps there is difficulty in recognizing Dorothy Finkenbinder, treasurer of
our class, without her bangs. We wonder why Dorothy is smiling so happily. Dorothy is associate
editor of the Aggie. Mentioning the Aggie, reminds us that Vice President Manvel Green was ill
the day the picture was taken. Manvel is also on the Aggie Board. In 1947 Manvel was President
of our class and in the same year was elected to the National Honor Society.
President Harris Hanson's sweater is quite fascinating. Harris is serving his first term as a class
officer. Seemingly Harris is fond of sports. He was also chosen as a member of the National Honor
Society in 1947. Treasurer Charles Mondor has a weakness for sports and has been in two swim-
ming meets. Charles is a member of the glee club. Leroy Swanson, sergeant-at-arms, has been active
in numerous sports and has been a member of the "A" Club for three years. Sergeant-at-arms
De Forrest Palm joined the senior class this year. He is interested in football.

ADVANCED CLASS
After four long years we have finally reached that coveted title of Advanced. Above are the
officers elected by us to lead us through this very important year.
The reason that Treasurer Lee Nielson isn't laughing on the picture is accounted for by the fact
that he is extremely worried that his football pants will show in the picture. Lee is not new to the
office of treasurer, having held the same position in his Senior year. Smiling directly at the camera
is Secretary Adelyne Sorensen. Adelyne is a wholesome young lady who is well liked by her fellow
class members. She has been active on the Pepster Squad. It is too bad that Sergeant-at-Arms
Wesley Madson isn't wearing his red tie-he is simply stunning in it.
David Lundberg, who is now serving his second term as class president, is co-captain of the
basketball team this year. As class president in 1947, he gave the Armistice Day message at the
monument. Vice-president James Thibodo has the distinction of winning the award as most valuable
player on the football team. We are still wondering where Sergeant-at-Arms Norris Pederson was
on the day the picture was taken.

Freshmen are called "green" by most students, and the green is not
supposed to be especially complimentary. Now, we hope that our class
is a contradiction to that title.
As president of our class we chose Charles Peterson. Nyla Finney is the
only girl chosen for an officer in our class. Nyla is our vice-president. We
decided to have two representatives from Clearbrook on our list of officers
and chose Wayne Anderson as secretary and Russell Milner as treasurer.
As sergeant-at-arms we selected Ordean Jensen.
Juniors usually wear a look of complete assurance, for, though they
still have a school year or two ahead, they have passed the first lap with-
out losing any, or at least not much of their equilibrium.
Apparently our class believed that we should let the girls have a bit
more influence in our class than the Freshmen gave to their girl classmates.
We selected Elaine Kopecky as our secretary and as our treasurer Eunice
A. Peterson. Clayton Brandt is also a treasurer.
Seemingly we did not feel safe in giving the presidency of our class
to a girl so we selected Duaine Moe to fill the post. Our vice-president is
Howard Thompson. W e believed Arne Filipi capable of keeping order in
our meetings so we appointed him sergeant-at-arms.
HOME SWEET HOMECOMING
There is no question as to the success of Homecoming which had its beginning with the traditional
pepfest on Friday evening, October 17, and its conclusion with the dance on Saturday evening. The
interval between these two events was filled with the Homecoming assembly, the football game be-
tween the West Central Aggies and NWSA Aggies, and the crowning of Marvlyn Vesledahl as Home-
coming Queen.
The program of the day included the dinner served in the cafeteria, the dress revue,
music by the advanced choir and massed chorus, home project reports on boys' project
work, and a one-act play.
At the conclusion of the auditorium program, the coffee hour was held in the gym-
Membership in the National Honor Society is considered a mark of distinction. The first requirement
for eligibility is high scholarship. A second requirement is character. The ideal of genuine worth
should so dominate the thinking of the group that it would be an exception which proves the rule for
a member to be criticized for lack of honesty, dependability, or even courtesy.
Leadership and service, the third and fourth requirements, are taken almost for granted. In school
activities these two are often inseparable. Members of this group are expected to volunteer for service
in all the varied school activities.
Students who belong to the Honor Society should hold their membership as a great honor and feel
that their scholarship and activities must contribute something worth-while to the school.
Since debating has traditionally been a means of examining both sides of a question, the topic this
year has provided an opportunity for fair-minded study of an important national issue.
The 1947-48 National High School League debate question is Resolved: That the Federal Govern-
ment should require compulsory arbitration of labor disputes in all basic American industries. The prob-
lem of industrial peace is one which raises violent prejudices, but through open-minded and serious
examination of all the issues involved, the squad has achieved a clearer understanding of labor and man-
agement relations.
From the members of the squad, one team will be chosen to represent the Northwest School at
Morris, and one will defend the Aggies' honor in a debate with a West Central team at Crookston.
