When you bring your pets to the Animal Humane Society’s Golden Valley
people who truly love animals and love the work they do.
Laurie Fosler, who has been with AHS for 27 years, was there when the
boarding facility opened its doors on November 1, 2001. From day one
and now as manager of the facility, she has been getting to know each
of the animals and their owners.
“When you take care of someone’s pet, you are taking care of a family
member,” says Laurie as she goes through a photo album of past and
current clients. “We take pride in caring for the animals, whether it is
pet’s experience here a positive one.”
“Our staff is very caring and attentive,” adds Laurie who is quick to
point out that it is a team effort at AHS. “We are able to care for special
needs animals—we provide medication and assist older animals in
getting around. In fact, we are able to accommodate nearly any
companion animal.”
On a recent Friday morning, Lexie, Edie and Mickey were all lined up
with their people ready to be checked in for a weekend getaway.
Barb Lindberg has been bringing her beautiful golden retriever, Lexie,
to the Golden Valley facility for five years. “Lexie loves coming here and
knows exactly where the treats are kept.” As Barb signed in, Lexie sat
patiently waiting for affectionate pets and treats, and she promptly
received them.
“Everybody loves
Mickey here and it is
the first boarding
facility where he
seemed content.”
