3. For every potential donor, anamnestic data must be obtained from the available relevant<br />
sources, such as the living donor’s treating physician, general practitioner, next of kin or in<br />
the case of a deceased, other people who knew the donor well, and / or the donor's medical<br />
record included in the donor file.<br />
4. When questioning donors or their relatives, it must be established that the phrasing of the<br />
questions is understood by the respondent.<br />
A.3.1.6.3. Physical evaluation of cadaveric donors<br />
1. The evaluation of the cadaveric donor should include a physical examination to detect<br />
signs:<br />
a) that are in themselves sufficient to the exclude the donor; or<br />
b) that may be an indication for further investigations; or<br />
c) are a contraindication for donation, when assessed in the light of the donor’s medical<br />
and social history.<br />
2. The physical examination has to be performed by trained personnel, in a working area with<br />
sufficient light, and under the condition that the entire body surface is easy accessible for<br />
examination by the retrieval staff.<br />
