LOST AND FOUND ITEMS
Please note that all items in the Lost and Found
Cupboard will be cleared every other Friday. If your
child has lost any item, please check with the security
staff immediately.
2 DAY SUSPENSION
If a student disturbs the class / is rude to staff members,
please note that 2 days of suspension will be given with
immediate effect.
PHONE NUMBERS
The phone numbers given in your child's SRB should be
reachable in case of an emergency.
REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT
Parents who have paid the refundable deposit, please
keep your receipt carefully. If you do not produce your
receipt we will not be able to make the refund.
HOUSE BADGES
Every student from Grade 1 to 12 should wear their
house badges.
EXERCISE BOOKS
Only 80 page books should be used. The finished exercise
book should not be stapled together.
MEDICAL RECORDS
If your child is on any special or long term treatment or
medication, please update the Medical Records with the
school nurse for the benefit of your child.
JEWELERY
Silver chains / black cords / jewelery worn around the
neck for various religious reasons shoud not be seen from
outside. Students will be asked to remove if noticed.
Please wear long cords and keep the buttons fastened to
conceal.
NATIONAL O/L RESULTS - 8A'S AND 9A'S
Students who achieve 8 A's Or 9 A's at National O/L
Examination are eligible for one term Academic
Scholarship.
MUSICAL EXTRAVAGANZA CONCERT DVDS
The above concert DVD's are available in the school
office. Price per DVD is Rs. 200/-. Purchase your DVD
copy as soon as possible.

T
he Neem tree was wise and tried to make
the Acacia tree realize its self worth - it told
the sad Acacia that it was so useful to
sparrows, who built their nests in its branches. The
thorns it disliked actually protected them; its leaves
were their food; camels relished its juice; and it was
truly great. But it was hard to convince the Acacia.
The Silk Cotton Tree felt even worse than the Acacia.
Its appearance was so unattractive with its dark
branches. Its flowers bloomed momentarily, the
summer breezes blowing away the silky blooms. At
least the Acacia was home to the weaklings. The silk
cotton thought it had no right to live; it was useless.
Again the Neem tree reminded it of its good qualities,
you are an artist’s inspiration and a child’s delight, said
the Neem tree, and your bare arms raised to the sky are
a prayer and an invocation to the Almighty. Mother
Earth, who was listening in to this conversation, spoke
to them and said, “each one of you is invaluable to me
and an integral part of the great creation. Each one
beautifies the world in its own way. Be yourself and
play your part in the best possible way.”
Focus on the positive things in your life. It matters.
Happiness is more important than material things.
Carry this thought in your heart this New Year. Set
new goals and fresh dreams. Strive hard to achieve
them. Constantly remind yourself of your true
potential. Above all, be yourself !

MEET THE CLASS TEACHER
Parents are not allowed to go to class room to meet class
teachers. If you want to meet your child's class teacher,
please make a prior appointment via the SRB. Please
note that you can meet class teachers only after school.
SCHOOL CAPS
If students are wearing caps to school they should wear a
school cap only. If colour caps worn it will be
confiscated.
FANCY PENS AND PENCILS
Please do not send fancy pens, pencils and pencil boxes.
Also make sure that you send only the necessary number
of pens and pencils.
PRE GRADE SONG BOOK ON CD
Songs which are on the Pre Grade Song Book now
available on a CD in school office. Price per CD is 100/-.

PAY IN VOUCHER
By last day of each term, you should receive the
Paying in Voucher for the following term's fee. If any
student has not received the voucher it is the
responsibility of the parent / guardian / student to
collect it from the Accounts Department. We request
all parents to make the payments before the deadline
to avoid the surcharge.
Please note that it is compulsory to pay fees on time
for your child to attend school.
Excuses such as vouchers were not received will not
be accepted as reasons for non-payment of fees. If you
have not received the voucher, please collect from the
Accounts Department immediately.

PARENT TEACHER DAY - MONTH OF FEBRUARY
It is colmpulsory for Grade 9 to 12 students and parents
to attend. Students must respect the school and abide by
the dress code when they accompany their parents for
the Parent Teacher Day. No fancy accessories, sandals
and slippers etc. are allowed.
TUITION
Please don't send your child for tuition for the main
subjects as what is taught in school is more than enough.
(does not include Music, Dancing, Speech & Drama and
Sports)
PT KIT / RELEVANT SPORTS KIT COMPULSORY
Please note that students should wear either the PT Kit
or the relevant sports kit for any sports activity. If they do
not comply they will not be allowed to participate.

PRAYER PASS FOR MUSLIM STUDENTS
Prayer pass is issued to all Muslim Students who wish to
go out for prayers (from Grade 6 upwards). Students
those who do not have prayer passes, please hand over a
stamp size photograph to Ms. Maduka (Registrar) and
obtain your pass. Please note that without this prayer
pass students are not allowed to leave the school. If the
child has to return to school for Extra Curricular
Activities, the pass and SRB page 2 should be shown to
the security person at the gate.
OPEN DAY
Open day for visiting Principal will be on Tuesday
from 8.00 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. Unless an emergency
occurs we greatly appreciate if you visit the Principal
only on Tuesdays.
THE LYCEUM INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL VENTURES INTO THE KINGDOM OF ANURADHAPURA
T
he Lyceum group of International Schools recently opened it’s 8th branch school at No. 6/393,
Lake Road, Stage 1 , Anuradhapura as it’s 1 st branch school in the North Central Province. On
14th of June 1993, Mr. Mohan Lal Grero, the founder of Lyceum International Schools took a
wise decision to extend his fullest support to uplift the Sri Lankan Education to International Standards.
He started the Lyceum International School at Nugegoda only with 7 Students in 1993. By taking this
small step, Lyceum International Schools have grown into a group of International Schools which provides
international level education for 15,290 students in a period of 20 years.
The new location was declared open by Mr Mohan Lal Grero the Founder and Managing Director of Lyceum
International Schools. The Coordinating Principal Mrs Kumari Grero, Registrar of Lyceum Anuradhapura -
Mrs Dinesha Keerthirathna, parents and other invitees were also present at this momentous occasion.

STUDENTS RECORD BOOK 2012 / 2013
Black marks will be given for incomplete SRBs.
All SRBs will be checked if pages 4, 5, 10, 13, 45 are
complete. If they've got the News Letter (Red stamp
for Grade 8 to 12), notices have been acknowledged
and relavant fees slip is pasted.
All SRBs should have a cover and a completed cover
page with a recent photo (not more than 6 months old
from current student appearance) and details clearly
written.
"BEYOND TOMORROW"
Please be informed that the MUN (Model United
Nations) Club has organized a social service project
"Beyond Tomorrow", to donate books (Sinhala or
English story books) and stationery items to
"Kimbulgoda Maha Vidyalaya" under the Small
School development Project.
Please make sure to submit your contributions to the
respective class teachers before 30 January, 2013.
10% MARKS AT SEMESTER EXAMINATIONS FOR
ATTENDING RELIGION SCHOOL (GR. 1 TO 8)
Please note that attending "Dhamma School / Sunday
School / Ahadiya School / Araneripp Padasalai" will be
considered for 10% marks at the Semester Examinations
for Grades 1 to 8. It is not necessary that these schools
should be in English medium. A form will be given to
each student in February (for the 1 st Semester) and in
June (for 2nd Semester) to get confirmation of
participation from the respective school. This form
should be handed over to the Religion teacher before end
of February and June respectively. Please note that the
religion forms will be distributed to the students during
the 1 st week of February 2013 and after completion
should be handed over to the Class Teacher on or before
04th March 2013.
LIBRARY FINES
Before you leave school please check if you have
returned all library books. If not fines will accumulate
until the day you come to collect the leaving certificate.
This would be a big amount and school will not issue the
leaving certificate if the library fines are not settled.
RELIGIOUS PROGRAMMES 2012 / 2013
Students attending Religious Programmes will be
entitled to marks as follows;
Grade 1 to 8 - 10% of marks at 2nd Semester Exam
Grade 9 & 11 - 100% of marks at 2nd Semester Exam
Grade 10 & 12 - 100% of marks at 2nd Semester Exam
If a student is unable to attend the Religious Programme
of his grade any day, he / she should bring a letter of
excuse from the parent and he / she may attend the next
programme on any other day. The letter of excuse should
be submitted to the officer marking attendance at the
gate.
The final sil programme for the Academic Year 2012 /
2013 will be held on 25 February, 2013 (Nawam Poya).
Children who have missed the sil programme for their
respective grades can participate for this sil programme
to recover their marks.
GRADES 1 TO 12
Please read the Student's Hand Book 1 (SHB 1) and be
familiar with the school rules and regulations. Violation
of any rule will result in corrective action.
ABSENTEE NOTES (REF: SHB 1 , PAGE 28)
All parental or medical notes (excuse letters) in the
SRB must include: date/s and reason for getting
absent. It is compulsory that student brings the note
on the day they return to school after getting absent.
Students will be given black marks per day from the
day they return to school (after getting absent) till the
day they bring the excuse letter.
Principal must be informed in advance if the
parents/guardians are planning to be out of
town/country. The following details must be
included:
Dates that the parents / guardian will be gone.
Address and phone number of where the student will
be staying.
Who is responsible for the student while the parent /
guardian is away.
