The Office of Population and Reproductive <strong>Health</strong> (PRH) provides strategic direction, technical leadership and<br />

support <strong>to</strong> field programs in population, voluntary family planning, and reproductive health. It manages programs<br />

that advance and apply state-of-the-art technologies, expand access <strong>to</strong> quality services, promote healthy<br />

behaviors, broaden contraceptive availability and choices, strengthen policies and systems <strong>to</strong> address family<br />

planning and reproductive health needs, and improve data collection and use.<br />

• The Commodities Security and Logistics Division (GH/PRH/CSL) promotes the long-term<br />

availability of a range of high-quality contraceptives, condoms and other essential reproductive health<br />

supplies.<br />

• The Policy, Evaluation, and Communication Division (GH/PRH/PEC) works across the entire<br />

portfolio of Global <strong>Health</strong> activities <strong>to</strong> improve the collection, analysis and use of data in policymaking<br />

and program planning; and promotes policies, behavior change and community norms, which<br />

result in improved reproductive and health outcomes.<br />

• The Research, Technology, and Utilization Division (GH/PRH/RTU) provides technical<br />

leadership in building scientific and empirical knowledge, and ensures its use in the design and implementation<br />

of effective, efficient, high-quality family planning and reproductive health programs.<br />

• The Service Delivery Improvement Division (GH/PRH/SDI) develops and applies innovative<br />

strategies that improve the performance of individuals, organizations, and systems for the sustainable<br />

delivery of quality family planning and related services.<br />

Office of Professional Development and Management Support (GH/PDMS)<br />

The Office of Professional Development and Management Support (PDMS) is responsible for three functional<br />

areas in the Bureau for Global <strong>Health</strong>: Professional Development, Personnel, and Administrative Support.<br />

• The Professional Development Team (GH/PDMS) manages professional development activities and<br />

training, which include the PhuNdamentals Course, eLearning and State of the Art (SOTA) workshops for<br />

Washing<strong>to</strong>n and overseas Agency staff, and manages the Public <strong>Health</strong> Fellows Program, which places and<br />

supports Fellows worldwide.<br />

• The Personnel Team (GH/PDMS) maintains the Bureau Manage-<strong>to</strong>-Budget records; assists Bureau<br />

managers in developing workforce analyses and plans, position descriptions, and Statements of Work<br />

(SOWs); coordinates the Annual Evaluation processes and Awards programs for the Bureau; processes<br />

recruitment requests and selection approvals through SDAA/GH; coordinates with the Office of Human<br />

Resources (OHR), with the Office of Acquisition and Assistance, and directly with Institutional Contrac<strong>to</strong>rs<br />

of GH/PDMS <strong>to</strong> provide for both Direct and Non-Direct Hire staff for the GH Bureau, other Washing<strong>to</strong>n<br />

Bureaus and Offices, and overseas missions; and chairs the GH Personnel Working Group with representation<br />

from each GH Bureau Office.<br />
