38Crónicas <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong>s Comunida<strong>de</strong>sOCTUBREDICIEMBREDelegación <strong>de</strong> TanzaniaDelegation of Tanzania while the brothers fromKenya are invited to participate.On the 8 th of December 2011 the Archbishop Ju<strong>de</strong>Thad<strong>de</strong>us Ruwa’ichi OFMcap, invited the PriorProvincial in supper at his Bishop House, wherebythey had exchange of i<strong>de</strong>as in Italian. TheArchbishop expressed his satisfaction with thepastoral work of the Augustinians in his Dioceseand also invited the Augustinians to express theircommunitarian aspect in pastoral activities.Finally on the 9 th of December 2011, the PriorProvincial held a meeting with community wherehe insisted on some communitarian living to beimproved and others to be introduced. Heofficially closed the visit, in the community chapelincluding the novices where reflection based onthe recent visit of Pope Benedict XVI in Benin.Mahanje-SongeaMahanje is situated at the south west ofTanzania, twelve hours journey by car. Themajority of its inhabitants are farmers of maize,beans, rice, sunflower and others. Some of themkeep livestock and many other domesticateanimals. Here the Augustinian community isma<strong>de</strong> of five members and it has three majoractivities: pastoral, formation and economicactivities. Prior Provincial opened officially thevisit in this community being followed by dialoguewith individual brothers. He visited the outstationsof the parish except that of N<strong>de</strong>lenyuma, whichlies far more than fifty kilometers from themission center. After visiting the other outstationsMadaba, Kifaguro, Mkongotema and Rutukira, themeeting was done with the Parish Council wheredialogue was due on different aspects. Thedifferent representatives of the Small ChristianCommunities presented the activities in theirareas and the different groups in the parish.The outstation of Madaba where the church isfinanced by IQUITANZ, the Spanish EpiscopalConference and the Province of the Philippines,was also visited. The work done up to date in thisoutstation was evaluated and differentsuggestions and opinions for success of theproject given. The Prior Provincial also visited theAugustinian Missionary Sisters of Mahanje togreet them and have some moment of sharingwith them Augustinian spirit.Comunidad <strong>de</strong> MahanjeThe Prior Provincial held a meeting with thecommunity and conveyed his message withvarious practical <strong>de</strong>cisions with the respect to theminor seminary. It was agreed to rehabilitatesome parts of the house for the accommodationof the seminarians. After this meeting the visit inthis community was officially closed as usual witha message from Prior Provincial. After all theseactivities, it was a moment to prepare for thereturn to Morogoro. There were once again twelvehours of travel, sometimes with rain and othercomplications. We thank God for his protectionthroughout these long journeys.MorogoroMorogoro is situated almost two hundredkilometers from Dar-Es Sa<strong>la</strong>am. Morogoro town issituated on the slopes of Uluguru mountains. TheSouthern and the Northern ways pass through thistown thus giving it an important strategic pointwith respect to many aspects. The Augustiniancommunity is found in this town just fivekilometers from the city center. The community iscommitted to the following activities: study,teaching in the Jordan University College (JUCO),some agricultural activities and pastoral activity.The community comprises of three brothers whotogether with those in formation i.e. professedand the postu<strong>la</strong>nts form the formationcommunity. In the time being there are 19stu<strong>de</strong>nts taking philosophy studies and threestudying theology. There are four simple professedbrothers and 18 postu<strong>la</strong>nts.This year on the 2 nd of October Br. Castor Fussiwas ordained a Deacon by Bishop TelesphoreMku<strong>de</strong> of the Diocese of Morogoro. It was done inthe chapel of the Jordan University College. It wasa vibrant celebration accompanied by a choir fromDar Es Sa<strong>la</strong>am. We congratu<strong>la</strong>te Deacon Castor
