The statue of the Mother of God wastaken from house to house with the observanceof vigil prayers. A Youth Day and Merit Eveningwas conducted in the Parish on November 28 th .The chair was shared by M.L.A., MunicipalChairman and other eminent members from thesociety. Youth conducted a programme. Nowwith view in mind of the advent of Parish FeastNovena is already in progress.PollachiWithout celebrations life becomes dry and boring.So, celebrations are part and parcel of our life. On21 st September the community celebrated Fr.Tony’s Birthday as the first birthday celebration inour new building. Being the Economo of theHouse, one finds him always busy and energeticin executing whatever is due to his office. HappyBirthday, father.By the end of September the students of theSchool were very happy as they were expectingholidays in connection with “Pooja” (HolyOffering), a typical Hindu celebration which laststhree to four days after their quarterlyexaminations. The school closed for 10 days from30 th Sept. and on 6 th Oct as the day of“Vidhyarambam” (the day of initiatingeducation for kids), around 15 kids had beenbrought here to initiate ceremonial education.Though almost all the kids who were broughthere belonged to Hindu community, weconducted the ceremony in our own way withthe consent of their parents. The common beliefis that anyone who begins his education on thatday evoking the name of Ganapthi, a Hindu god,he would attain remarkable education in future.Hindu Temples are the main centers of suchceremonies and thousands and thousands ofchildren having 2 or 3 years of age begin theireducation on the same day.The visit of Fr. Carlos Moran, the PriorProvincial with his secretary Bro. Marcelinobrought us a renewed vigor in our Schoolcommunity life. Marcelino for your concern and lovetowards us.As the month of November begins with the joyof all Saints, the community also rememberedthe 2 nd day as the All Souls as usual. On 13 thNovember, the Community remembered withgratitude all the Saints of the Order and the dayof Vocations which also being the birth day ofSt. Augustine.It was really a blessing that all the communitymembers could arrange a picnic together toBangalore. Many a time the Augustinian Sistersresiding in Bangalore invited the members tovisit them and so the occasion was made use offor the same.On 14 th Nov. the whole nation commemoratesthe birthday of Jawaharlal Nehru, the first PrimeMinister of India who had showed greatattachment to children and so the day iscelebrated all over India as “Children’s day”.Fancy dress competitions were conducted for theLKG students.November 20 th was the Birthday of Fr.Binukumar, the Vice Principal of the School andwe had a wonderful celebration as usual.To inculcate the value of reading good books inour students, three- day books Exhibition cumsale was conducted by the end of November.Many students were very happy to buy manyvaluable collections to their book treasure.
2011PROVINCIADE FILIPINASBoletín Informativo45Before beginning the half yearly examinations forthe students, an Educational tour had beenorganized by the beginning of December for thestudents of 3 rd standard to 9 th standard. The picnicwas arranged in two groups where one groupwent to “Dream World”, a place in Kerala andanother group went to “Kovaikkondattam”, whichis in Covai, Tamil Nadu itself. All enjoyed well.Our students are very good sports stars too. Someof the students, who participated in District wiseathletic competitions, bagged many prizes. TheSchool Sports day was also conducted by theend of the second week of December.The community members also participated tworenewal program conducted in Aluva in connectionwith the jubilee celebrations. The memberscherished a lot from the Known professors Mr.Ignatius Gonzales and Dr. Geroge Manalel.On Dec. 8 th all community members had gone toAluva in order to celebrate the “Parents day”which conducted in connection with the jubileecelebrations. Fr. Tony and Fr. Jovin hadparticipated in a drama staged on the same day.Fr. Santhosh, the Vice Principal of Lower Primaryand Kintergarten handed over the charge of theHostel students to Fr. Jovin on 14 th Dec. asdirected by the Provincial and his council. Thehostel students are very much fond of Fr. Santhoshand they organized a thanksgiving day on 17 th Dec.Seminaristas de la Casa de EdacochinEdacochinOctober, the month of Rosary, was observed in aspecial way. Last 10 days we had eveningservices in St. Antony’s Shrine, beginning withrosary. During the Holy Mass sermon wasdelivered by the professed brothers. Provincialand his Secretary paid the visit of renewal andhad their individual and common meeting.Thebirthday of Frs.Xavier Kattikatt and SajuThandassery was celebrated in a grant manner.November. Inter-seminary Meet: As part of theone year jubilee celebration, an inter seminarymeet was conducted in which the brothers ofboth minor seminary and major seminar mettogether for mutual sharing.Prayers for the dead: November being dedicatedfor all souls, there was special prayers and HolyMass offered for the departed souls of our Order,family and relatives.Birthday of Fr. Antony: The birth day of Fr.Antony Ettunkal, the Prior of the House, wascelebrated in a special way. Fr. Augustinefelicitated by wishing him all the blessings fromGod and the Students made the gathering morebeautiful with their talents.December. Brothers are engaged with theirexams and the preparation for Christmas. Fr.Sumesh Joseph took over the charge ofProcurator of the house.ThalapuzhaOctober. Being dedicated to theQueen of Rosary, Rosary wasconducted in a special way in thehouses of the Parish.November. There was thecustomary Mass on all souls day inthe Parish.December. Christmas waswonderfully celebrated in theParish with the Vigil Mass and theMorning Mass. Now the fathers arebusy arranging for the immanentFeast of the Parish and substation.Fr.
