XVIII FESTIVAL HABANO
COMERCIAL IBEROAMERICANA S.A.
Exclusividad y glamour
Exclusiveness and Glamour
pureras, ceniceros, humidores, cortapuros y
Since its foundation, Comercial Iberoamericana S.A.
has attended all editions of the Habano Festival.
Eighteen years later, the group can rest assured that
its stock embraces all seven of the world’s most prestigious
global brands of premium cigars, a condition that speaks
volumes of its professionalism, outreach and reputation.
“We started out with small samples and we’re now
selling cigar pouches, ashtrays, humidors, cigar cutters and
other accessories customized for each and every brand,” says
Barbara Joa Zaldívar, the company’s marketing chief.
The company has dramatically enhanced its portfolio
of products, as well as the size and conditions of the stand
it sets up every year for each edition of the festival –very
much in sync with the scope and developments it has put
under its belt through all these years.
“We have a presence in all five continents, but
especially in Europe, with strongholds in France,
UK, Germany, Switzerland and Spain. In Cuba, we
also provide the supplies the local tobacco industry
needs, such as brandings, cases and iron fittings,” Mrs.
Zaldivar adds.
“We’ve tried to introduce new things each year in
an effort to support Habanos’ distributors with their
sales. That’s precisely the greatest contribution made by
our products and our work: the backup of Habanos,” she
concluded
CONCURSO INTERNACIONAL HABANOSOMMELIER
Cuatro aspirantes al trono
Exclusiveness and Glamour
Day two of the preliminary round of the
International Habanosommelier Contest
“Master of Masters” was the perfect setting
to finally unravel the mystery. This Tuesday within the
framework of the 18th Habano Festival, the news was
eventually broken to the public: the names of the four
world champions that will vie in the event’s grand finale.
Cuba’s Jesús Machín and Pedro Tejeda will go to bat
for the island that’s home to the world’s finest tobacco.
Brazilian Walter Saes and Mexican-born Luis Manuel
Garcia, representing the United Arab Emirates, will
square off with the Cubans in a much-anticipated clash
of titans.
“It’s been a tough competition and the tasting
of cigars and drinks was no doubt the game changer.
Both the presentations and explanations were
qualitatively similar,” said chief juror Jose Ilario. “Our
recommendation for all contestants is to work harder on
the interaction with patrons because it’s not just about
knowing more, but also handling things better in front
of the customers,” he added.
In this second stage of the competition, Orlando
Blanco (Cuba), Miguel Antonio Méndez (Spain) and
the aforesaid Garcia and Blanco faced one another. On
Monday, the two other finalists had pitted themselves
against two other contestants. The big winner will be
eventually announced on Friday when the final match
for the crown unfolds
