opinions are absolute authority, and they despise the opinions
of others. On rare occasions, sociopaths are shy, insecure or
find no words to express themselves with. They have trouble
repressing emotional responses such as anger, impatience or
annoyance, and constantly attack others and respond lightly to
these emotions. Sociopaths show spontaneous and audacious
behavior in an abnormal way. They seem to act outside the
realm of social norms and can do extravagant, risky and rare
things without evaluating the possible repercussions.
Sociopaths can be criminal. Because of their tendency to
belittle law and social conventions, sociopaths may have a
criminal record. They can be scammers, kleptomaniacs or
even murderers.
Sociopaths are professional liars. They create stories and
elaborate extravagant and phony phrases, but they are able to
make these lies sound convincing with their confidence and
assertiveness. Sociopaths have little tolerance for boredom.
They get bored easily and require constant stimulation. The
way a person interacts with others may also indicate that the
person is a sociopath. Sociopaths are very good at convincing
others to do what they want, whether through their charm or
other more aggressive means. As a result, friends and coworkers
of a sociopath may find themselves doing what the
person wants them to do. Sociopaths are unable to experience
guilt or shame for their actions. It is common for sociopaths to
lack remorse when they do something that hurts others. They
may seem indifferent or rationalize their actions. Sociopaths
are manipulators. They can try to influence and dominate the
people around them and often look for leadership positions.
Sociopaths lack empathy and may be unable to love. While
some sociopaths will have a person or a small group of people
they seem to care about, they find it difficult to feel emotions
and may not have had healthy romantic relationships in the
past. Sociopaths find it difficult to deal with criticism. Often they
want the approval of others and may even feel the right to
have it.
