Hoy El Salvador se plantea nuevos desafíos
unidos a los de siempre: la dura lucha por la
supervivencia y la construcción de un futuro de
paz y de convivencia solidaria.
Today El Salvador considers new challenges
attached to those of all times: the hard struggle
for survival and the construction of a future of a
peaceful and integral coexistence.
Sin perder de vista la historia de sacrificios y de
esfuerzos que nos ha traído al presente, y sin
desdeñar las lecciones del pasado, la nación se
proyecta al futuro con renovados ánimos.
Without losing sight of the history of sacrifices
and efforts that has brought us to present, and
without disdaining past’s lectures, this nation
faces future with a renewed spirit.
La voluntad que mueve músculos y enjuga
sudores se guía por la misma fe de nuestros
ancestros. No negamos los vínculos que nos
unen a las tradiciones. Pero El Salvador del
siglo XXI es, evidentemente, un nuevo país, y
se manifiesta en los rostros que hoy perfilan la
Patria con energía redoblada.
The will that moves muscles and dries sweats
is guided by the same faith as our ancestors’.
We do not deny the links which bind us to
traditions. But El Salvador of the XXI century is,
evidently, a new country, and is shown in the
face of those who now shape this Motherland
with doubled energy.
