Sol vivificante...
cielos de púrpura y oro
Vivifying sun... Purple and golden skies
Un retorno tierra adentro del recuerdo nos acerca
al origen, al nudo primordial de donde parten
todas las raíces: la tierra, el seno fecundo y
generoso donde se teje el primer lazo que nos
une a la materia que nutre la existencia.
An inland return to memories takes us closer
to our origin, to the prime knot where all roots
emerge: land, the fertile and generous heart
where the first lace that binds us to the mass that
nurtures existence is weaved.
Desde las playas que baña el Océano Pacífico, la
tierra se alza, altiva, hasta la frente de sus volcanes.
From the beaches bathed by the Pacific Ocean,
land rises, haughty, towards its volcanoes’ face.
El más joven: el Izalco, famoso “faro del Pacífico”
que con sus lavas guiaba a los navegantes, hoy
todavía custodia la riqueza de los cafetales de
Juayúa, Salcoatitán y Apaneca a la sombra de
sus rompevientos de copalchí.
The youngest: Izalco, famous “Pacific lighthouse”
that used to guide sailors with its lava, still guards
the wealth of coffee plantations in Juayua,
Salcoatitan and Apaneca under the shadow of
their copalchi windbreakers.
Hacia el oriente, por donde nace el día, el valle de
Jiboa extiende una colcha bordada a la sombra
de la doble cumbre del volcán de San Vicente.
Towards east, from where the sun rises, the
Jiboa valley spreads out a Quilt embroidered
under the shadow of the San Vicente volcano.
Todos los verdes encuentran cabida en esta
tierra: Todo su ser alimenta y sostiene.
This land gives room to all greens: it nurtures and
sustains all of its beings.
