Types of protection and recommendations
for different applications

Protection against corrosion type C
Heat exchanger completely varnished with a two component lacquer or powder coated.
Protection against corrosion type D
Heat exchanger completely varnished with a two component lacquer or powder coated,
tin coated copper tubes.
Protection against corrosion type E
Heat exchanger in all copper, tubes, fins, side panels and cover panels.
(Extra varnishing according to type C on request)
Protection against corrosion type F
Aluminium fins coated with gold lacquer
Protection against corrosion type G
Aluminium fins coated with gold lacquer; tin coated copper tubes; connection and bow sides
of heat exchanger varnished with a two component lacquer.
Protection against corrosion for housings
All standard and special housings can be extra powder coated on the inside.
Cleaning of heat exchangers and housings
Regular cleaning should be effected only with water and traces of cleaning agents.
Don’t apply lixiviums, acids or solvents.
Sterilisation of heat exchangers to be effected only with products which are approved by victual law.
After sterilisation careful washing with water is imperative.
To reduce the possibility of corrosion damages a regular cleaning of heat exchangers
is recommended in the following applications:
– cold rooms for fresh meat
– kitchens in general
– bakeries, bakehouses and other rooms for the preparation of paste products
– stores for corn and feed-stuff with dry dusts
– wineries above surface level
– plants and preparation rooms for dairy products
Regular cleaning is indispensible in those cases which are marked with X in the table on pages 32–33.

The protection possibilities and materials for the different applications can only be taken as a suggestion.
Statements about service life of protection measures are only possible in those cases where we have a long
period of experiences.
