Denise Cunningham 10 novembre 2002 Denise Cunningham Proulx, 55, of 911 SE 21 st Street, Cape Coral, FL, died Sunday, November 10 at her home. The recent widow of Leo Proulx, Mrs. Proulx was also managing several health problems. Her favourite nicknames included “the Redhead” and “Peanut”, which was in reference to her small stature. She was born Denise Aurelie Cunningham on July 19, 1947 to James and Rita (Desautel) Cunningham of Dover. Denise grew up in Dover and graduated from Dover High School in the Class of ‘65. She married her high school sweetheart and shared 35 years together until they were sadly parted by his death in August of 2002. Denise was a long time employee of the State of New Hampshire Department of Employment Security, where she worked as a job interviewer, helping to find jobs and training programs for people. After retiring, Mr. and Mrs. Proulx moved to southwest Florida, where they pursued leisure activities and travel with a real zest. Mrs. Proulx enjoyed gardening, with her favorite plants being roses, orchids and other tropical flowers. Mrs. Proulx also enjoyed volunteering her time at her local hospital, and while living in Dover she volunteered at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. Once she moved to Florida, she volunteered at the Cape Coral Hospital. Despite her severe aversion to blood and the like, she managed to find jobs that she could do without fainting. Some of her favorite times were spent at the nursery helping to rock newborns. Mrs. Proulx was involved in several other groups, including the Paradise Pirates Boat Club, Cape Coral new residents club, Cape Coral Hospital auxiliary, Disabled American Veterans auxiliary, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, and the local garden club. Denise and her husband were also members of a wine tasting club and even made their own wines and labelled them “Maison Floride” or Florida House. Her family was very important to her and she is remembered as a kind, encouraging, loving and generous woman. While her son, Kevin, was growing up, Mrs. Proulx was often a favorite school trip chaperone and always seemed to find the time to help with schoolwork, or whip something up for a bake-sale. Denise also volunteered as a Cub Scout Den Mother while Kevin was a scout. Denise and her husband loved to travel and had taken several trips overseas as well as domestically. During the summer, she enjoyed spending time with special friends at their beach home on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. While there, Denise and Daisy, her trusty Golden Retriever, were a fixture on the beach for their afternoon and morning walks. Denise is survived by a son, Kevin Proulx of Hollywood, FL; a brother Michael Cunningham of Dover; a great aunt Pauline Desautel of Dover; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be missed by those that loved her, but will not be forgotten. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Charles Church, Dover, with the Reverend Paul Gregoire, pastor as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Charles Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Denise's name to the Riverside Behavioral Center, 733 East Olympia Ave, Punta Gorda, FL, 33950. Melina Mandia 21 novembre 2002 MANDIA, Melina (Min) Of Ottawa, passed away peacefully in hospital on November 21 in her 85th year. Beloved daughter of the late John Mandia and late Rosina Polito. Predeceased by her brothers Joseph, John, Cosimo and sisters Mary, Dora Mandia and Rose Latimer. Beloved aunt to Woody, Lanny Latimer and Colleen Lajeunesse (Herb), Thelma Proulx/Leahy. Dear great aunt to Donald (Claire), Robert (Barbara), Richard (Ginette) Daniel, Paul and Carole Proulx, Jimmy (Christine), Jeffrey, Rima and Sean Latimer. She is also survived by many great-greatnieces and nephews.
