CURRICULUM VITAE – Dr. ANDRÉ PHANEUF
Dr. André Phaneuf holds a degree in Dentistry (DMD) from the Université de Montréal (1974)
and a degree in Law (LLM) from the Université de Sherbrooke (1995) and is a Fellow of the
American College of Dentists (2009). He will shortly be completing a Master’s degree in bioethics
(MA) from the Université de Montréal. He was in private practice from 1974 to 2000 and since
then has been the Clinic Director at the Université de Montréal Faculty of Dentistry and Lecturer
at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Dr. Phaneuf has served as a member of the Committee
on Discipline (1988-1995) and Chair of the Review Committee (1995-2004) of the Ordre des
dentistes du québec (ODq). He is the Chief Examiner for the ODq equivalence examination, and a member of
the école polytechnique de Montréal Research Ethics Committee and the ODq Ethics Committee. He serves as an
expert consultant for various bodies.
CURRICULUM VITAE – Dr. NATHALIE MORIN
After earning her degree in Dentistry (DMD) from the Université de Montréal in 1990,
Dr. nathalie Morin practised general dentistry with the Canadian Forces and in private practice.
She completed a speciality program in public dental health between 2002 and 2004, at the
national institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research in bethesda, Maryland. When she returned
to Canada, she continued to practise general dentistry and was closely involved in designing and
implementing the cross-Canada electronic dental file system for the Canadian Forces. in 2008
she was appointed Assistant Director of Professional Services with the Ordre des dentistes du
québec and, since October 2009, has been Director of Professional Services. She also works at the Mcgill University
Faculty of Dentistry as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the field of dental cariology.
CURRICULUM VITAE – Dr. YVES AYOTTE
Dr. Yves Ayotte earned his degree in Dental Surgery (DDS) from the Université de Montréal in
1970. He practised with the Canadian Forces until 1998. in his 25 years of clinical practice he
was involved in almost every aspect of dentistry, including restoration of osteointegrated implants.
At the same time, he was involved in managing clinics and dental units, and in managing
programs, for over 20 years. While working with the Canadian Forces, he took part in many
training sessions on professional practice, management and administration. At the time of his
retirement in 1998, he commanded the First Dental Unit, comprising all dental services for
troops garrisoned in Canada.
He was then appointed Director of Professional Services with the First nations and inuit Health branch of
Health Canada, before applying for the position of Director of Professional Services with the Ordre des dentistes
du québec in April 2005. Dr. Ayotte was then closely involved in managing the professional inspection process,
before Dr. nathalie Morin took over his position in October 2009.
