CONFIGURATION
Before mounting and wiring the RS component system, determine which confi guration you will use for the
speakers and crossover.
RS Speaker
Confi gurations
ADVANTAGES CONSIDERATIONS
Coaxial great for space-limited applications
or when separate tweeter mounting
is not possible
Separates optimal sound quality and improved
sonic imaging (with proper tweeter
mounting)
RS Crossover
Confi gurations
high frequencies may not be as
prominent | tweeter output may
need to be increased at crossover
trickier install | vehicle must have a
good tweeter mounting location
ADVANTAGES CONSIDERATIONS
Conventional 2-way easy install | ideal when available
amplifi er channels are limited
Bi-amplifi ed optimal sound quality; more effi cient
usage of amplifer power
SPEAKER CONFIGURATION
The RS component system comes packaged in a separates confi guration.
To use a coaxial confi guration, see Fig. 1 and follow these steps:
1. Unscrew and remove the plastic phase plug from the center of the woofer.
2. Remove the rubber boot.
3. Screw the coaxial mounting post into the woofer in place of the phase plug.
4. Thread the tweeter’s lead wires through the center of the woofer.
5. Snap the tweeter onto the coaxial mounting post.
6. Rotate the tweeter for the most appealing position.
7. Run the tweeter’s lead wires through the groove in the woofer’s backplate.
8. Reattach the boot.
audio fi delity not quite as high as
bi-amplifi ed confi guration
requires at least 4 amplifi er
channels | slightly trickier install
