as we can understand, the desire to bring to light „the difference“ and,
thus, the effort to establish collective identity, as much as it manifests
itself. This is not an ending period, after which ageing and then dissolution
would appear. The appearance of originism is not even determined
by a favorable context and it does not take place only one time
in history.
These are periodical introspective consultations which become a
strong move or trend when originism is threatened or favored.
The initial study presents the Romanian case, but this is a scheme
that can be applied anywhere where there is will for identity and struggle
for differentiation.
It is also a research of literary history, because it describes a defined
reality portrayed by defined authors. But, at the same time, the authors
are only certain „persons“ taking on „masks“ of a local prototype. In
other literatures, they bear different names and embody other layers of
local behavior which will become identifiable, if ever, for each local area.
In any case, the simple fact that originism appears in the „coat“
of five contemporary languages, this introduction reveals significance
beyond hazard. It expresses a family of cultures. Each culture has got
its inner clock and its own original substance which is waiting for the
right moment to fully express itself. But, together, they make up a whole
which is, to a certain extent, the exemplary whole. Here are included
the French Romanity, with its Gallic layers, and with the classical component,
previous to the Roman Empire, which through a catholic participation
gets maintained, with the French and „Got“ and with the
protestant component, namely the „anglo-saxonity“, where the Peoples
of the North, capable of setting up empires, are defined through
their nature: an island and certain features that are so old they seem
to meet the primigen European man, last but not least, the „Romanian
of the Carpathians“, which is essentially Tracic, thus old, embodied
by the Romanians who, being orthodox, mobilize the Greek Polis.
This is actually the Pentagram, Europe's seal that will either order
this formula or will never make its way into the world.
