Le collectif Slavs and Tatars tourne son regard vers l’Est, et plus particulièrement entre l’ancien Mur de<br />
Berlin et la Grande Muraille de Chine, une région que le radar occidental a trop souvent tendance à<br />
ignorer. Slavs and Tatars souhaite entretenir le patrimoine culturel romantique que partagent les<br />
peuples slaves, caucasiens, et d’Asie centrale.<br />
Dans le cadre de Spoken World, Slavs and Tatars présente The Hymns of No Resistance au<br />
Kaaitheater : des classiques et des chansons cultes de l’histoire de la pop sont réécrites et se<br />
succèdent dans une performance-concert autour de conflits territoriaux, de questions linguistiques et<br />
autres sujets portant à controverse en Eurasie. Les chansons sont interprétées en direct par des<br />
musiciens kurdes établis à Bruxelles. Sur la liste d’écoute, on retrouve e.a. : She’s Armenian (inspiré de<br />
She’s a Maniac), Young Kurds (autrefois : Young Turks), et Rock the Casbah de The Clash.<br />
