8. EXTERNAL AIR INTAKE<br />

For a good operation of the appliance, it is essential that a sufficient quantity of air for the <strong>com</strong>bustion and the reoxygenation<br />

of the room is introduced the installation room itself. This means that, through proper openings<br />

<strong>com</strong>municating with outside, the air for <strong>com</strong>bustion must circulate also with closed doors and windows.<br />

• The air intake must be positioned so that it cannot be obstructed.<br />

• Be <strong>com</strong>municating with the installation room of the appliance and be protected by grating.<br />

• Minimum surface must not be lower than 113 cm 2 .<br />

• Should the inflow of air be obtained by openings <strong>com</strong>municating with outside of nearby rooms, it is<br />

necessary to avoid air intakes in connection with garages, kitchens, bathrooms, thermal units (see<br />

Picture 17).<br />

• If in the local of installation there are inspiration hoods, these cannot work at the same time, as the<br />

contemporary use of them could cause the smoke exit in the room, even if the door is closed.<br />
