Déploiement ToR sub-optimal<br />
• l’avantage d’une commutation décentralisée<br />
pour les environnements de serveurs denses<br />
(consolidation E/S), ce qui réduit la câblerie. La<br />
distance réduite entre le serveur <strong>et</strong> son commutateur<br />
améliore la vitesse de transmission <strong>et</strong><br />
réduit la consommation d’énergie liée.<br />
• l’inconvénient du surdimensionnement dans un<br />
environnement moins dense (peu de serveurs<br />
par rack). La sous-utilisation <strong>des</strong> ports disponibles<br />
entraîne alors une faible efficacité énergétique.<br />
Le déploiement ToR présente donc <strong>des</strong> éco-avantages<br />
s’il est appliqué à <strong>des</strong> systèmes correctement<br />
dimensionnés.<br />
La Figure 4.4 illustre le concept du déploiement<br />
ToR <strong>et</strong> sa bonne utilisation.<br />
