Automatic Mute
Function
The DAB Receiver includes a Mute function to
avoid disturbing noises caused by low DABsignal
quality or DAB-signal loss. Within the
Mute function the DAB receiver automatically
checks the actual DAB-signal quality. If the
quality falls under a certain level, the DAB
Receiver will automatically fade the audio
volume to 30% of the original level.
In case of complete signal loss, the DAB
Receiver will immediately mute the audio
signal completely.
When the DAB Signal recovers to a certain
level, the audio will fade gradually to the
original level.
Time Shift Mode
Time Shift mode allows you to replay the
received DAB audio for a limited period.
Therefore the received audio content is always
stored in digital format in the memory while
receiving, even if DAB is not the actual mode
(e.g. while listening to CD or FM). The
maximum Time Shift value is limited due to
the memory capacity and depends on the time
of receiving the actual Service Station and the
data rate of the Service Station. Please refer to
the "Time Shift capacity table" in the
Specifications chapter.
How to activate Time Shift mode:
To activate Time Shift mode for listening to
previously received content you need to press
the [TIME SHIFT] key or [TUNE] knob for
1.7 sec or longer. When the function is
activated a beeping sound will be emitted.
How to change Time Shift value:
By turning the [TUNE] knob counterclockwise
you can increase the Time Shift period up to
the maximum Time Shift value. By turning
clockwise you can decrease the Time Shift
value. Time will shift per 10 seconds.
While in Time Shift mode, the display indicates
the selected Time Shift value. When the
maximum Time Shift content is reached, a
beeping sound will be emitted.
How to exit Time Shift mode:
Press [TIME SHIFT] key again
or
press [TUNE] for more than 1.7 sec or fast
forward to zero time value. After 6 sec the
display will return to normal automatically.
NOTE:
The memory in Time Shift mode will be erased
in the following cases:
1) When the radio is switched off.
2) When the ignition of the car is switched off.
3) When another Service or channel is selected.
Limitation in the use of the Time Shift
Mode
When AF function is switched ON and you
enter a [NO SIGNAL] zone for more than
5 sec, the AF function will start to search for
alternative service stations automatically. At
that time the memory in the Time Shift buffer
will be erased.
