FRANçOIS LURTON<br />

In the mid 1980’s, François and Jacques Lurton, originally<br />
from the ‘Entre Deux Mers’ region were on the lookout<br />
for new vineyards for the family production. They learnt<br />
of the wonderful potential of the ‘terroirs’ of southern<br />
France. In 1996 the two brothers took the plunge and<br />
rented an estate by the name of Mas Janeil, with land<br />
spread between Maury and Tautavel. “Les Fumées<br />
Blanches” comes from the cool region of the Gers, 150km<br />
south of Bordeaux, sandwiched in between the Atlantic<br />
and the Pyrenees mountains to its south.<br />
