Plage d’Ampanihy, la
cathédrale végétale
Direction au Nord-Est de Madagascar à Sainte-

cathédrale végétale, hérons et aigrettes débusquent
crabes et petits poissons. Pas un bruit, hormis
le sourd grondement des vagues qui, au loin, se
brisent sur la barrière de corail.

vegetation
Head for Ile Sainte Marie in the north-east of
Madagascar. Well known for its splendid beaches,
its turquoise blue water, its extraordinary fine sandy
beach with lofty coconut palms, the bay of Ampanihy
is one of the extraordinary attractions of Sainte-Marie.
The beaches of Ampanihy enjoy the natural protection
of a coral reef, so holidaymakers can swim in safety. In
this cathedral of vegetation, herons and egrets stand
waiting to catch crabs and small fish. There's total
silence, with the exception of the low rumble of the
waves breaking against the coral reef further out.
