Le « Sikin-dahy » est la façon de porter le Sikina<br />
au masculin. Les hommes Antakarana (au nord<br />
de Madagascar) nouent leurs pagnes en soie<br />
ou en coton appelés « Kitamby » autour de la<br />
hanche et bien plier les extrémités afin que ces<br />
derniers ne se défassent. Si au XVIIe siècle,<br />
une couleur correspond à une classe sociale<br />
déterminée et dont le rouge était réservé aux<br />
nobles, après il est porté durant les occasions<br />
joyeuses et festives telles que l’Alahamady, où<br />
les habits sont aux couleurs du feu.<br />
"Sikin-dahy" is the way to wear sikina the<br />
masculine way. The men of Antakarana<br />
(north of Madagascar) tie their silk or cotton<br />
loincloths called "kitamby" around the hips<br />
and fold the ends well so that they do not<br />
come loose. In the 17th century, a colour<br />
corresponds to a specific social class and red<br />
