CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
Effective energy management process should be
based on the intended purposes and the necessary
actions to achieve the goals must be described in detail.
To impose boundaries an energy management program
in industry, it is necessary to determine accurately the
type and amount of energy used at each level of the
manufacturing process. Therefore we need a procedure
of recording the use of systematic and sustainable
energy. Data collection further followed by analyzing
and defining of energy conservation activities which
would implemented.
The combination of data collection, data analysis
an defining of conservation activities is called the energy
audit.
1.1 Type of Energy Audit
Energy audit coverage started from the simple
data survey to the test of existing data in detail,
combined with special factory test, designed to generate
new data. The duration of the implementation of an audit
depends on the size and type of plant processes facility
and objectives of the audit itself.
Initial survey or Preliminary Energy Audit (PEA)
can be implemented within one or two days for simple
factory installation, but for more complex plant
