In risposta alla pregiatissima Sua lettera del 9 corrente le confermo il contenuto della<br />
mia ultima. Come <strong>Le</strong> <strong>di</strong>ssi le con<strong>di</strong>zioni saranno le stesse che per "Cenerella" cioè 300<br />
lire per la 1ª e<strong>di</strong>zione e per percentuale su ciascuna delle successive. Ella vorrà essere<br />
così cortese da non insistere nella nuova variante propostami anche perchè non posso<br />
due volte compensare la stessa e<strong>di</strong>zione. Con una somma fissa e con una<br />
percentuale: - <strong>Le</strong> pare?<br />
Non ho però alcuna <strong>di</strong>fficoltà <strong>ad</strong> accogliere senz'altro il suo desiderio <strong>di</strong> firmare<br />
anche i libri <strong>di</strong> 1ª e<strong>di</strong>zione il che costituirà per <strong>Le</strong>i una valida garanzia.<br />
La mia venuta alla bella Napoli non credo sarà molto prossima, ma sarà mia<br />
premura <strong>di</strong> preavvisarla desiderando io pure incontrarmi con <strong>Le</strong>i. <strong>Le</strong> unisco una<br />
memoria riguardante "Cenerella".<br />

Senza insistere oltre, accetto quanto mi scrive (nella Sua ultima gra<strong>di</strong>tissima lettera) e<br />
che Ella può oramai stabilire nel contratto da firmare.<br />
Poiché non mi contenta in ciò che <strong>Le</strong> chiedevo, spero vorrà almeno concedermi<br />
<strong>di</strong> pubblicare dentro l'autunno, o, più precisamente, nel prossimo ottobre. Avrò<br />
questo piacere?<br />
Colgo l'occasione per pregarLa <strong>di</strong> mandarmi col contratto - se non <strong>Le</strong> <strong>di</strong>spiace -<br />
le trecento lire fissate per la 1ª e<strong>di</strong>z.<br />
Del cortese anticipo (più che utile) <strong>Le</strong> sarei gratissima. Ma ciò, ripeto, se non <strong>Le</strong><br />
