Un lavoro del 2010 ha mostrato che su<br />
16.867 detenuti sottoposti al test HIV con il<br />
sistema opt out la percentuale <strong>di</strong> esecuzione<br />
del test nei mesi <strong>di</strong> osservazione passava<br />
dal 61% al 90%, con 22 nuove <strong>di</strong> infezioni<br />
HIV/anno <strong>di</strong>agnosticate rispetto al sistema<br />
opt-in. Queste osservazioni i fanno<br />
prefigurare una strategia <strong>di</strong> offerta proattiva<br />
e debitamente informata.<br />
