Economia <strong>di</strong> Comunione<br />

L’Economia <strong>di</strong> Comunione (E<strong>di</strong>C) è un progetto lanciato da Chiara Lubich<br />

nel 1991 in Brasile per contribuire a colmare il <strong>di</strong>vario tra ricchi e poveri e<br />

che coinvolge imprese dei cinque continenti.<br />

Gli impren<strong>di</strong>tori che con le loro aziende, liberamente aderiscono al<br />

progetto, decidono <strong>di</strong> mettere in comunione parte dei profitti dell’azienda<br />

secondo tre scopi e con pari attenzione:<br />

• aiutare le persone in <strong>di</strong>fficoltà creando nuovi posti <strong>di</strong> lavoro<br />

e sovvenendo ai bisogni <strong>di</strong> prima necessità<br />

• <strong>di</strong>ffondere la “cultura del dare” e dell’amore<br />

• guardare allo sviluppo dell’impresa.<br />

I principi fondamentali<br />

• l’E<strong>di</strong>C nasce dalla spiritualità <strong>di</strong> comunione, vissuta nella vita civile<br />

• punta sulla forza della cultura del dare per cambiare<br />

• non considera i poveri principalmente come problema, ma come<br />

The Economy of Communion is a projet launched by Chiara Lubich in May<br />

of 1991, in Brazil, a contribute to help bridge the gap between rich and<br />

poor, and involves companies from five continents.<br />

The company owners who spontaneously join the project decide to share<br />

their business profits accor<strong>di</strong>ng to three equally important purposes:<br />

• helping people in <strong>di</strong>stress creating new jobs and satisfying primary<br />

needs, starting from those who believe in the spirit of the project<br />

• sprea<strong>di</strong>ng the “culture of giving” and of loving, essential to achieve an<br />

• developing their business, which must remain efficient even as it is<br />

open to giving.<br />

Basic principles<br />

The E<strong>di</strong>C is born from a spirituality of communion, practiced in everyday life;<br />

• it combines efficiency and solidarity<br />

• it harnesses the strength of the culture of giving to change economic<br />

behaviors<br />

• it doesn’t consider the poor mainly as a problem, but as a precious<br />
